D&RGW was a very scenic RR all thru the rockys all the way to SLC UT
where the meeting of the westerns was D&RGW & WP & SP
It's wierd how all these RR's Are now 1 major RR UPRR SP Aquired D&RGW
In 1994 Then was sucked in to UP In 1997 WP was aquired by UP in 1980 i think
Then the MOPAC & MKT in 1984 then C&NW & CHTT in 1995 the year BN & ATSF
meged into BNSF now UP Is the biggest and has a nice display of color schemes
SP D&RGW & CNW be nice to see some WP MP & MKT with a UP patch on the nose
and then theres the Old F units of D&RGW real nice paint scheme the Rio Grande
passenger train was a real beautiful one along with SP's daylight colors on some
E unit which kinda looks like MILW road color scheme in a way ever notice that
I would love to see The IC's business train that loco was beautiful in New Orleans
at the super bowl back in 2002 BN still has an ole F-9 A-B unit I seen It back in 1996
In KC.MO BN's ex SLSF FRISCO yd new paint Like the Last SD-70MAC's they bought before the merger same paint scheme as The SD-70 MAC's # 9000 series

I voted for GN my first train ride was on the new EMPIRE BUILDER in February 1947. Rode the train probably some twenty five times since including the Amtrak version. Also rode the INTERNATIONALS, WESTERN STAR, WINNIPEG LIMITED, BADGER, GOPHER, CASCADIAN and DAKOTAN. Only GN train ever disappointed in was the Seattle - Portland pool train. Also experienced the NP and SP&S passenger trains and even the CB&Q trains on several occasions. Maybe I should have voted BN or BN-SF as also rode the AT&SF as well. But the GN always seemed to put an extra foot forward to make every trip memorable.

Southern Pacific[:)].You can't beat the Daylights behind a streamlined GS2,3,4,or 5.Think of the Overland or City of San Francisco climbing over Donner Pass behind Red & Orange PAs,or the Shasta Daylight in the Oregon Cascades.Also there was the beautiful Budd built 1950 Sunset Limited.And we mustn't forget the Golden State,shared with the Rock Island,between Chicago and Los Angeles.Or freight trains behind A-B-B-A sets of Black Widow F units[:D]!!!
