Here is my first attempt to post a video on this board. This forum does not seem to support embedded video. If you know how please let me know how to do it!

Copy this link into your browser and save the file. You need to have a flash video player to watch it. I think that i got a player here.

http://www.jeroenwijering.com/?item=Flash_Video_Player

Video

http://vidmg.photobucket.com/albums/v521/getstuffnow/NeffOscaleUP9000.flv

I finally got some extensions for the control levers made. I also had a propane filler valve made.

I have been learning how to drive this engine. Just a bit of a learning curve. It gets a bit easier each time. I haven't had running on track yet since the minimum radius will be near 14 feet.

The propane filler needs some more work to get liquid propane into the tender tank quicker. Seems to run fine with the bottle attached and after 20 minutes of running the tank fills with liquid propane and will run the engine for more than 30 minutes. I don't disconnect the bottle with the burner lit! The engine gets very hot with the heat from the burner exiting from the holes under the cab instead of through the stack like an alcohol fired engine. Gloves are good. I would hate to have to pick this engine up after a derailment.

I borrowed the tailgate of my friends truck in this run. The sound is funky and the motion of the running gear and valves looks weird due to the lo res sampling. Send me an email to getstuffnow(AT)charter.net for a higher res version

Let me know if there is more interest in this engine and I will do some better video.

The engine is amazing to watch run. I wonder how many cars it could pull?

Michael
