Why does a trolleybus (a/k/a trolleycoach) use two trolley poles instead of one, as on vintage streetcars? <br /> <br />1. The trolleybus requires more power.<font color="red"> <br /> <br />2. Rubber-tired trolleybus is not grounded; the second pole is for grounding.</font id="red"> <br /> <br />3. Newer design keeps better contact with catenary wires. <br /> <br />4.
