Doc,

Wow! My apologies in that my request resulted in you having to search through a lot of photos. But thank you, very much appreciated!

Beautiful shots. The photos below are the ones that I was referring to. These are the colors that I saw so often on prototype southeastern brick industrial structures back in the day. Sadly, so many of these types of classic buildings in South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and Alabama have been torn down and replaced with modern, "efficient", but very bland looking LEGO style industrial buildings.

Question:  What color mixes did you use to achieve these particular finishes. I'm guessing  that one of the colors may be Reefer Orange, but I can see other hues on your structures as well. Outstanding work! YesCool

My apology if there are duplicate photos, as it's quite a hunt to find them the way photobucket is now doing things. I hope some of the photos will be useful.

Cheers,  Wayne

There it is!

Seriously, I've been taken notes through the years here.

Just hope my stuff turns out half as good as yours.

[Edit: Hi Wayne - I think I located all of your duplicate photos in your post and deleted them for you.  There were maybe 6 or 7, total. ~Tom]

Good evening

doctorwayne

Well, I just finished adding a couple dozen photos of various structures... most showing mortar with brick & stone structures, but when I signed-off, everything disappeared.  I'll see if I can find them again, but no promises.

We're not worthy, we're not worthy! Wink

Hopefully you'll find those, as I'd love to see them.  I've been enjoying your 'Wayne's World' for many years here.

Thanks WayneSmile

Hello Doc,

I'm glad you're Ok, and posting.  YesCool

A request, if you don't mind.

A few years ago you posted photos and information regarding the techniques and mixes that you applied to some of your brick buildings. Instead of the very common deep, dark reds seen on stock kits, yours leaned towards yellowish-red and orange red finishes combined with approrpiate weathering. Beautiful, realisitc work!

Your structures caught my eye because the colors and weathering were very similar to many prototype brick structures (especially warehouses) in the southeastern U.S (Florida, Georgia areas). I'm trying to recreate that setting on my shelf-layout.

I searched but have not found the thread or threads. Would you please post that information again, along with some photos?

Yeah, I'm still around, but haven't done too much on the layout, as I was trying to replace some of the in-ceiling fluorescent lighting with pot lights.  I thought that it would be pretty easy to do, but I got mixed-up  about where to make the connections, so it's reverted to the former set-up.  I haven't done much else with the layout, but am going to scratch-build some cabooses as I have eleven caboose underbodies with suitable trucks.

Wayne

Missed ya doc!  Pls don't post more pics of your layout or, you'll drive me (and likely others) to quit the hobby out of being jealous!

Thanks to the OP for the genuine concern.

Has anyone seen the Doc lately?
Posted by lone geep on Friday, September 15, 2023 4:19 PM

Does anyone know if anything has happened to Doctorwayne? I sent him and email about 2 months ago and he hasn't replied. Normally he gets back to me within a day or 2 but I also haven't seen any posts from him here lately either. I haven't been to the diner in a long time so please forgive me for being out of the loop.
