I did get the motors for the 0-6-0 this weekend. Not sure where the other 0-6-0 is and why it hasn't arrived yet.   But I was tinkering with the one I do have for a few minutes.    
6 pole at 6400 rpm at 12 volts.   Should make a good slow speed runner.  Once I have it retired for dcc.   I did find the trucks on the tender to be useless.   The side frames are very loose.  So much so the the overly short axles easily drop out of the journels   Needed to order new trucks.   All that after putting wipers on the existing ones.  Oh well.

Hey, thanks, Did catch the podium winners, but honestly, this is the first time in 25 years that I haven't followed the Spring Classics, Giro, and The Tour, maybe coincides with my waning time on the pedals, but there's still the Vuelta!  regards, Peter

Very nice photos everyone!

We set up our modules at the Pine River Library in Bayfield Colorado a few weeks ago. I thought I would show a couple of the new multi-purpose modules two of our members made. They can be a straight or a corner. All made with commercial track.

David: I love these cars. I have a few very similar to these in Hon30. 

Shane: Your loco shop seems to be very busy! I like the colors of your 35' passenger cars.

Rick, thanks for starting another WPF.  Your photo of the coal cars on the layout is very good.

David, another nice photo of your layout with the new coal cars.

Kevin, wait until you're completely retired.  The different days of the week all run together.  Friday?  Monday?  They're all the same!

Shane.  I like the two blue cabooses.  Be sure to give us photos of them when you have them finished.

TF, excellent work on the N tunnel portals.

Peter, your photo of the lumber cars on your layout again shows your excellent skills in modeling.

 

For several months, the layout hasn't gotten any attention.  This week I was able to get some work done.  I got two tracks put in for a chemical plant or ethanol plant.  I decided to use up some of the small pieces of track I had laying around and soldered a bunch together to make the track.

 

 

The photos so far are a good start.  Hopefully we get a lot more this weekend!

Rick, Thanks for getting the WPF underway with a fine array of rolling stock.  Good to see wind in WPF's sails.  

My son treated me to a glimpse of UP 1210 at work in Sandpoint, Idaho yesterday.  Bless his heart, he knows what I like, switching and lumber loads.

I havent posted in a while.  so here is bunch of stuff

Little 34' roundhouse coaches .  Paintd up in propper coloring for the late 1800's. To go with my 4-4-0 DS16B  after researching that one.  I found interesing histroy for pullman.   In the early days , they used a vibrant plum color.  After the civil war, it was a vibrant brown, in 1900 it became what we now call Pullman grenn.   If you want to know exactly what that brown looked like, just ask what Brown can do for you.  Or have something sent.  UPS uses that brown.  Known to them as Pullman brown.    odd things you find in history.  

These two cabeese are now shoving platforms.  with light boards installed but not wired up yet. and gloss coated for future decaling.  to be done once the new layout has come along further. 

C32-8. finished.  

This spetrum 2-10-0 with a rivarossi  0-8-0 tender. the paint is a test to see if that green will work as an over all color to be applied to the boiler jacket like was done historically.   I took the electronics out of the actual tender and put it into this one.  and put contacts on the trucks.  Mostly a test bed for colot, i think it is a little to bright. it is tru color Reading green.  Again to be decaled after the layout is back together next year probably

My little Mantua brass camel back.  waiting decals, fully wired up and set up for future dcc. also has the tender trucks contact equipped now. After it complete overhaul.  It runs. like new now. 

Currently the roundhouse 0-6-0 on the bench going the same way.  full rewire for dcc and repaint short of decals. I also have a second one coming and new 6 pole motors. this one has an interest story to it.  for a different post

I had bought a 2-10-4 brass with out a tender.  This might do the job.  needs a lot of work. as you can see.  The big brass engine needs paint, cleaning and wire work.  Along with my brass 2-10-2 They two will be finished short of decaling to be done later.

Rick.  Thanks for starting this weeks WPF.  Another great set of models.  Well done.

 

Myself.  I must catch up on some neglected maintenance.

I did do four coal wagons in Rothwell Collieries livery all with different running numbers.

Good morning from sunny and hot Northeast Ohio!

Here is what I managed to get done the last week!

 

Tichy Panel Side Hopper kit, painted with Scalecoat II Black and lettered with Mark Vaughn's Wabash Decals. The Wabash rebuilt some of their USRA hoppers with panel sides when the original sides deterioted in order to haul more coal in the same size hopper, these cars lasted until the N&W merger.

Next, another Red Caboose PRR X29 Boxcar kit, painted with Scalecoat II PRR Freight Car Red and lettered with K4 Decals. The Pennsy had several thousand of these cars and rebuilt many of the worn out cars after WWII.

I also built another pair of Bowser H21a hopper cars to add to the fleet, these were factory painted, but I dull coated them to get rid of the shine. The PRR had over 20,000 of these hoppers used in coal and ore service.

Here is some of the rest of the fleet of H21, H22 and Gla hoppers behind one of the Pennsy's massive N1s 2-10-2's.
