Anybody wanna come to North Dakota?

York1 It seems all modern cartoons have one theme -- someone is destroying the planet and it's up to some young group to save it. There doesn't seem to be much fun in any of it. I wonder if I can find some old Roadrunner, Elmer Fudd, and Tom & Jerry cartoons on some channel.
The issue is they do not want the young people of today to see fighting. Goog Guys and Bad Guys tends to polarize people and traumitize udders. It is time we let artists create cartoons and social workers to sit on the side line qnd kevtch.

I would trade places with you in a heartbeat.
You lucky guy!

Living the dream.
Good morning, diners. Just quickly checking in -- I'm making breakfast for three hungry girls, all under the age of 7. I feel like a short-order cook at the Waffle House.
Daisy the Dachshund is not doing well. She isn't suffering, but she is also not playing anymore. I think the end is now in sight.
My day ahead will consist of playing table games, refereeing toy selections, and watching mindless cartoons on TV. The modern cartoon is a pale reflection of the cartoons we grew up with. It seems all modern cartoons have one theme -- someone is destroying the planet and it's up to some young group to save it. There doesn't seem to be much fun in any of it. Hope everyone has a great day. I'm tired already.
Edit: Top of the Page. You all are invited to join the granddaughters and me for breakfast. Guess what? They all like bacon, too! They are good granddaughters.

My wife used to only eat steaks that were thin and well done. It has only been in the past few years this has changed.
You have a good eye for detail, Bear! Thanks for your interest in the photos I have posted. I surmise the B&O has a small storage and reclamation area back where the gin poles, jib cranes and steam shovel are.

I have another photo coming up of the cars stationed at the team tracks for the big Shriner's Convention. More fascinating details to see.
That big B&O sign lasted well into the late '70s. These scenes below are from 1956.

The EVs have moved in! The fellow with the card table just behind the stairs is signing folks up to the Milwaukee Road historical society? Get in on the ground floor, folks.
My wife too. She used to eat well done, but now says meat upsets her stomach. We are wondering if she got a tick bite that makes one intolerant of meat?
I have someone (who has posted 3x/yr for 13 years), in another thread that is mad at me because I used a to indicate I didn't have a clue as to what he was talking about. He called me cruel for calling him a dunce. I did not do that, but I confess I have called people far worse, to their face.

Bro. Elias! that looks like a perfect cut of roast beef! When are you going to cook it?
Sorry, I couldn'd resist! If my wife were served a cut of beef in that state of rareness, she would go into a state of shock! That would be followed immediately by her charging into the kitchen and thoroughly throttling the chef!!
In the past she has always chosen to have her beef well done. There is hope however! Right now we have a flank steak resting in the fridge and she has told me to cook it 'rare'. We shall see if she likes it. I'm looking forward to it. We are going to serve it with brussels sprouts that have been briefly boiled in sugared water. They will be drained on a towel and then fried in clarified butter, bacon bits with the bacon fat, lemon zest and balsamic vinegar with a bit of chopped garlic at the very end. Credit to Chef Jean Pierre for the recipe. I'll let you know how everything turns out.
Cheers!!
Dave
I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!

Well here in the Finger Lakes Region of NYS everything is Green outside... May have to get the mower checked out soon...
BTW, I think you forgot to cook that steak! I poked a fork at it and I heard Mooooo..... I like rare but that is just a bit too raw! LOL To each their own Brother Lion.
I have homeowners insurance again.
It is with a company I have never heard of, but cost considerably less than I feared.
I no longer have all the extra coverage for my hobby items. I need to work on getting this all covered next year.
At least I have a little better peace of mind.
Good morning. Bacon, eggs, and black coffee, please.
Saw some good news this morning -- the predicted snow has now been changed to predicted rain. Rain on the driveway! No scooping or running the snowblower!
MLC, that's good news. Also, I have in-laws in Bowling Green. They had high winds, but no house damage.
Grandchildren are coming for a one night visit. They are bringing their new puppy with them. I'm not sure how Daisy the Dachshund will like that. She feels she's the queen of the house and she doesn't really like any challengers.
I wonder how many years of clanking metal it took to get this result:
Good morning everyone, something is weird today. I woke up feeling like I just ate two meals. I have the feeling that I have when I overeat at a great restaurant, but all I had for dinner last night was some rice and mixed vegetables.
Hopefully this uncomfortable feeling passes soon.
Track fiddlerWas quite bummed out they discontinued product #4444, (board & batten) with 1/16" OC. It's not a true board & batten, so the windows snug nice. Have always used that Basswood for N scale buildings, and can't find a replacement.
As I love to say...
If there is something you need to enjoy the hobby, buy your lifetime supply now while it is available.
I should have all the wood that I will ever need.
Good morning
York1 TF, How is your layout coming?
TF, How is your layout coming?
Hi John, SLOOOW! Could be the slowest modeler in the Midwest... Some of that (is) my fault, but there are other stumbling blocks lately. The hardest thing about this N scale hobby, is some of the product availability these days.
Got all my custom piers built for bridge # 8. Then found out Micro Engineering sold a while ago, and can't get 3" girder plates for the multi-span decks. Bruce at Scale Model Supply has had them backordered for about 2 months now, among other things.
Can't understand why a company purchases a multi-million dollar business, and doesn't supply all their product to the distributors. Was thinking all these years, purchasers of a business want to make money And with that said, something to consider is they might want to discontinue the blanks, to make more money selling the whole kit.
Went to start my ore loader project. Got all my styrene and other ducks in a row. Then come to find out, Midwest Products, (the best manufacturer of cork road-bed in my opinion) was bought out by a company in Saunders, Wisconsin.

Even with things on the back burner though, the beautiful thing about this hobby is there's always something else to do.

Good day Diners. A large coffee please, Chloe.
Snow is beginning to fall.
Dawn is taking it bad again with Covid. I too am getting the symptoms. That's enough about us.

one year I was camping at Lansing MI and the mosquitos were so bad I had to run from tent to screen shelter or car to keep from getting carried away. I only have seen mosquitos that bad in Forrest City Arkansas, where they had warning signs at the motel pool that after dark the mosquitos would come off the rice fields. a huge cloud decended at dusk. In Texas we had mosquitos so big, one landed at Hobby airport and they had it fueled and ready to go, before they realized it was not a plane.

SeeYou190 York1 One would think that would also be a problem in Louisiana, but in all the years I lived in New Orleans, I don't remember mosquitos being a problem in the city itself. I think if you went outside the city, it was a different story. I spent a little less than a year in Slaughter, Louisiana, and the mosquitos were so bad that I felt right at home. -Kevin

On the colon scope front, had my first one ever, they said " see you in 10 years" So I am good on that front.
we had a tornado a few miles away on Friday, did quite a bit of damage to one neigbrohood.
we had tons of rain and really high winds. luckily the power stayed on and the new sump pump did it's job.
Praise the Lord and pass the amunition!
