Myself and a friend each received our new Bachmann HO scale Climax models within the past week, and both had a minor problem that I thought I'd pass along.

The universal joint going to the front truck is very short, and it had come apart on both our models. With a little bit of fiddling it will go back together, and is really not a major problem. I don't know if the drive shaft slipped apart during shipment, but it would be a good idea for anyone purchasing one to check it out before operating it. The male part of the joint is only about 3/16" long, and doesn't have much travel.

I assume allowing the front truck to flop too much to one side while handling it could also cause it to come apart. The rear drive shaft is much longer and does not appear to have this problem.

Bob Boudreau
