Not knowing the seller I would guess it would be USPS. How fast it will get there? No one knows. I have had stuff come from half way around the world quicker than one state over. I just got three sugar cube speakers from California to Massachusetts in two days. Shipped the same day as two decoders from Vermont that took one day shorter than two weeks. I could have walked to Vermont faster. We're talking about a government agency. Efficiency does not exist. Why something shipped from Vermont going about 250 miles away would sit in New Jersey for the long weekend?

There are instruction sheets available on the hoseeker.net website for a LifeLike P2K SD60.  Might be very similar to the Walthers proto version.

MetrolinkFan
But no instruction sheet anwhere online I can find.

The closest I have is for the SD50. Should be pretty close with many shared parts:

My SD50s are at least 15 and maybe closer to 20 years old and still running flawlessly.

Good Luck, Ed

Also ask the seller if it runs on DC since you don't have DCC. If the seller says YES, you're good to go!

Most recent decoders are "dual mode" so they will run on DC but with less functionality and a smaller speed range since the engine may not begin to roll until there is enough track voltage to satisfy the electronics on the decoder.

Ask the seller what decoder is in it.

For the simplest "un-DCCing" of the locomotive you would need to locate a Proto 2000 light board otherwise you could hard-wire the rail pickups directly to the motor and you would need to add resistors to the LED headlights.

I don't recall that the Life-Like version had factory decoders installed. Perhaps Walthers added DCC to some at a later release.

Good Luck, Ed

Question On the Proto 2000 UP Ho SD60M DCC
Posted by MetrolinkFan on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 2:19 PM

Hi I found a Ho UP SD60M Proto 2000 with DCC on Ebay,How will I make it run on my DC Ho track? How would I take the shell off and remove the DCC board for? and wire the wires together to make it run on my Dc track? I do not have DCC just DC Ho trains.I have not bought this yet I am just asking about it since it's DCC.
