Oh Man!  You get to run trains David.  That would be my Saving Grace right now.

I went to lay my PECO track the other day after I got all my temporary Bridges done.  None of the bridges I built are painted yet so I can't lay track on them.  I can't paint them in the winter because I don't have a spray booth.

So I went to lay my track.  I don't know about HO scale but N-Scale,  PECO track has the rails embedded in the ties.  I tried taking my Dremel with a roto bit to make my own tie sleepers that go between the joints.  It didn't work too well and I need 60 of them for the mainline.  I gave up on that endeavor.  I need four of  the sleeper ties per joint and you cannot put them in after the track is laid.

Most of the places on the internet were sold out of these things but I finally found some.  I,m waiting for them in the mail.

This is the only thing holding me up right now from finally laying my track to be able to run some trains.  So what else is a guy supposed to do at that point but build another BridgeLaugh

David, where you live, is it always cold and snowy during your winters?  I wasn't sure how much snow and icy weather parts of the UK got.

 Eveing Diners

Flo, give the gang and I a Beer and Dirk and Robbie a dog treat.

Guess I am just not making the time to come to the site. Betwwen being sick, having to work more hours and being a Dog Slave just not finding the time.

Work Ick! I now have to work 32 hours a week 4 days a week. Now I am working 4 days a week, not the 3 days I was use to.  All because of Jerry the Dunce. After 5 years he still does not know prices of current stock iteams? He thinks I should tag all of the stock in the back so he knows what it is?

Told me Saturday I need to do my Job and tag the mattress and box springs!Angry I was able to hold back the Big word's of F and U I have to remember I am dealing with a 6 year old that is 2 years older than me? Whistling

Credit Score It is well under control. It is now a 760 up 107 points from 2 years ago. Total credit card debit is $1750.00 and at the rate I am paying them off by March I should be at $0.00.

Well my master is Woofing at me to take him out to pee!

Later Ken and Dirk say's come here salve Daddy, Woof, Woof!

PECO HO track needs what we call fishplates to join track.  They are a pain to attach.  In the Crown Point Yard I have used some Hornby track.  Not as good as PECO but okay in a yard and have fishplates already fitted.

As for buying things it has become very difficult due to COVID.  Then some suppliers have increased  their prices as well.

I hope you're feeling at least a little better Ken.  The job sounds like it sucks lately and that doesn't help.  That Jerry guy sounds like a piece of workSad

That's funny how are you pointed out dog owners are the dogs slave.  I was a dog owner all my life and at least they had their own fenced-in yard and a doggie door so I didn't have to deal with taking them out.

I always wondered what the aliens think on who the Master really is when they see someone walking their dog down the street and then bend over to pick up their dogs poop in a bagLaugh

If anyone has gotten creative and found things to do in the pandemic

WhistlingMischiefPirate

Good afternoon all from a cloudy West Coast.

My back was better enough today to get the hood fan installed.

It's a beauty. I had to change the ductwork in the attic to 6" from 5". Three trips to the attic require a bottle of wine for the sore back now.

I think I could squeeze in a nice little N-scale layout at that end of the kitchen.

Tile gets grout tomorrow, cabinets finished Tuesday, Wednesday moulding and dishwasher Thursday. Subway tile backsplash will all that will be left...I think...hope.Sleep

With all the cruise ships that sail out of Vancouver, we can get a last-minute day before 1 week Alaska cruise for $600.00. It is popular with the locals. Our friends did it twice in 2019. They had an inside cabin the first time and a balcony the second trip.

The repositioning cruises are really cheap as well. My sister sailed to San Diego for $185.00. Three nights.

Onward and Eastward to the Rockies where I have hike a lot and skied a lot. Stayed at the Chateau Lake Louise many times on ski trips.

All the best to all.

Ed, why dont you post a pic of these seats. Id like to see them please. Itll give me something to ponder while i take a seat in the parlor, fire up a stogie, and crack open the latest Classic Trains as we clickety-clack along under the soft glow of pullman lamps.

Hi, Douglas,

Finally got that photo you requested:

 Parlor_chair-a by Edmund, on Flickr

These "Sleepy-Hollow" seats are finely detailed. They even came with etched SS footrests! Well, I only have 24 of these and I'll be needing 162. These Red Cap models are finely detailed but are a pain to assemble.

 Parlor_chair by Edmund, on Flickr

I think I finally came up with a reasonable solution. Palace Car Co. makes kind of a klunky-looking chair but I think I can work with it. So I just ordered 200 of the little buggers:

https://www.bluerailhobbies.com/collections/palace-car-co/products/100-548-5002100

Basically I only need the "representation" of parlor seats in there. No where near the detail of the Red Cap chair.

Thanks for your interest Wink

Interesting David.  Like I said, I don't know a lot about HO PECO track.  I know a little more now than I did thoughYes

This little setback with the tie sleepers has been a bit irritating but I'm still glad I made the choice on the PECO.

I had some samples of several track Brands before I made my choice and I almost went with ME.  I'm sure that stuff is great in HO scale.  The problem I had with ME in N scale is the micro track spikes holding the rails are so dainty.  Don't get me wrong.  That track I still think is the most prototypical beautiful track there is.

The problem is, and it happened just the other day doing something.  My fingers are quite Burly and the rail joiners are so hard to put on.  I have broken those little tie spikes so many times I'm glad I did not go with it.  They Atlas code 55 was kind of the same way but that's just for me.  I'm not saying it's not a good track and doesn't work well for other guys.

It's too late now, but for just a short time Xena, the Warrior Princess, was included in the Users Online photos!  She was gone just a fast as she appeared.  I was hoping she was going to spend time with us in the diner.

Ed, that Railroaders video is the best.  I've seen it many times, and like more each time.  I would have been 9 at that time.  Just the way people and different things look, brings it back, even though I was a farm kid, at that time.

Thanks!  I like one about country feed mills, too, where the guy shoves the grain loading boxcar with a manual car mover.

TF, maybe give B & B's a try.

Have a great night, to all.

Mike.

Hi Garry

You must have missed his post not too long ago.  Not to worry I tend to overlook things here sometimes too.

He posted ten-eleven posts ago tonight.  He is still sick and his boss is being a pain in the butt.

Hope he feels better soon.

Mike,  I like that Prairie grain elevator video Ed has posted in the past too.  For some reason the guy calls it the beacon.

And forgive me for my ignorance but what is B&B?

Good Evening,

Glad to see Ken back. Ken, you are so right about being at our dog's beck and call. Robbie has a small bell that he rings when he needs to go out. Sometimes he ribgs it when he just wants to go out and sniff ir to get me to come upstairs. My first dog, Nazareth(adghan hound) would get me up in the night pretending he had to go out only to go to the kitchen and look up to the top of the fridge where we kept his treats. I had to put a bungee cord around the fridge if I went out or he would open the door and help himself. He used his paw on the handle to open it.

Tea time,

CN Charlie

I'll have to watch it again for the "Beacon"? [Yes, at 1:14] Maybe he was refering to Prarie Sentinals which I've heard before, too. You can see the "beacon" from miles around. Maybe that's what he meant? Since we're headed toward Saskatchewan and Manitoba why not post the video link again Big Smile

The filming and editing are perfectly timed. You really get the feel for the atmosphere. Cats in the window before opening up Smile

 Enjoy, Ed

Gidday John, while the Bear is very rarely known to be wrong, Whistling  if we’re thinking of the same person, Xena the Warrior Princess is the avatar of a genuine Forum member who frequents the Trains Forum discussions. Not one of the late night mystery “guests”!

Yep,  That makes sense.  The Tower of the Prairie you can see for miles around.

That's the third time I watched that one and I haven't got sick of it yet.  I will probably enjoy watching it next year or maybe in the spring tooSmile

Thanks Ed, ...Enjoyed

P.S.  I remember watching Xena the Warrior Princess somewhere around High School time.  She was a Hottie! ...Those eyesStick out tongue  I usually don't care for a Burly woman but she did all right by me.

I remember He-Man (Conan the Barbarian) aired around that time too.  I think there was even a special addition.  Xenia the Warrior Princess versus Conan the Barbarian if I remember correctly.  I don't quite remember who won though.  She probably did because men are idiots when it comes to a beautiful womanLaughWhistling  And there's a vague remembrance of a character named Skeletor around that time as well.

Post Hog!

Judy and I are watching the old school Odd Couple on the Decades channel.

It's an all weekend Marathon we stumbled across as we had all day long with nothing to do and all day long to do it.

Now we're watching it because we have all night long with nothing to do and all night long to do itLaugh

It's a shame because I was so enthralled and busy with my bridge model today untill I took a wrong turn and got discouraged with itIndifferent

P.S.  I can't even believe I just said all that.  I'm usually an extremely positive person.  I think the Corona is finally starting to get to me and I better step back and take a look at things here
