Well, it looks as if I'm the one to get us out of this dead-end, so I'll add this unusual view of an unfinished part of my layout....
To take the picture, I crawled over the shelf under the layout, then very carefully stood up on the shelf and squeezed between the coved corner of the room and the back side of the plaster-on-screen landform shown below...
The space between the cove and the scenery is about 15" wide, so plenty of room, even though it doesn't look like it in the second photo.
Both photos fulfil my request for a multiple span bridge, so let's move on.

Along with the ten GM&O cabooses that are the "standard caboose" for the SGRR, there are ten other individual models that are just one-off caboose models that I like.
I have them because sometimse I just cannot control myself when I see something nifty and shiny. I promised my wife I would just buy the ten GM&O cabooses, but she also picked out some of the oddballs!
This is one my wife picked out. It is a Lambert brass import of a KANSAS CITY SOUTHERN transfer caboose.
A Norfolk and Western caboose brings up the rear of a long freight.

It looks like a Model Die Casting caboose, with a cupola from an Athearn steel caboose, while the roof looks similar to those on boxcars from Red Caboose.

That is a "Scrap-Box-Special" of my own creation just made of junk I had lying around.
The body is a Model Die Casting Overland Old Time Combine. The floor and coupla are from an Athearn Steel Caboose. The roof is from an Intermountain Boxcar kit that received a Viking Roof from DesPlaines Hobbies.
I am very happy with the way it turned out.
