Track fiddlerHow about a fishing lure? We will use my dime and a Witchy Woman.
If that doesn't do it, we may have to send someone out to BC to see what's going on.

Capt. Bart Mancuso: My Morse is so rusty, I could be sending him dimensions on playmate of the month.
And I wouldn't be surprised if he follows suit to Howard Zane and has his layout featured in MR magazine
Kevin, what are you remodeling? I hope you're tearing out walls downstairs to make room for your new layout after time well spent on your practice run

Here's the link to his layout build.

BigDaddyMax I hope there are no hard feelings.
I don't know what for.
BigDaddy2 broken wrists? I understand the physical limitations that brings, she is lucky to have you.
Yes, I was valuable for awhile. Now that she is getting along much better I have been re-relegated to the box with the break glass in case of emergency sign over the door.
I have Crimson Tide, U-571 and the whole Indiana Jones box set. I also stumbled across 3:10 to Yuma. Russell Crowe and westerns with an old train are good, so that one is on deck.
maxman, Robert Petrick posted his magnificent bridge scene he constructed in WPF this week. That was my way of complimenting him late. Sorry about the confusion
My dumpster showed up today.
This is real now... full steam ahead on the demolition for the house remodel.
No pulling back now.

Max I hope there are no hard feelings. The virus has us all stressed. I hear, from good sources, that there is a 6 mile backup to retrieve one's love ones from the funeral home.

Track fiddlerI love Sean Connery.
Another great Sean Connery quote from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade:
"It tells me that goose stepping morons like yourself should try reading books instead of burning them".
RideOnRoadCapt. Marko Ramius:Re-verify our range to target... one ping only.
Yes! Some great lines in that movie.
Ambassador Andrei Lysenko: There is another matter... one I'm reluctant to...
Dr. Jeffrey Pelt: Please.
Ambassador Andrei Lysenko: One of our submarines, an Alfa, was last reported in the area of the Grand Banks. We have not heard from her for some time.
Dr. Jeffrey Pelt: Andrei, you've lost another submarine?
Not far behind are Crimson Tide; Run Silent, Run Deep, U-571, Das Boot, Gray Lady Down... Any more?
Track fiddlerI did find it on Amazon Prime but it does not have a free ribbon. I love Sean Connery. Do you recommend I spend the 4.99?
You will not regret it! It is $2.50 for me on Amazon Prime. OR get the DVD for $10 and get Sum of All Fears, too.

I wonder if I can install a periscope in the basement so I can stay down there 24/7 and just take a peek at the surface every now-and-then?
Cheers, Ed
I searched my approximately 1500 DVD's that are alphabetized to look for The Hunt of Red October. It didn't ring a bell and I don't have it.

maxman Track fiddler He is going to meet us all up here on Friday with the Steam Engine and the DeLorean to take us all three months into the future so we don't have to deal with this CRAP anymore. Do you think three months will be enough or should we go for four? I would much rather go back to November, 2016.

November 2016 was a good month but I'm trying to piece together the reasoning, so help me out here.
A) The Cubs win the World Series for the first time in 108 years.
B) A very good year for the Breeders Cup.
C) 14000 viruses were found in invertebrates.
D) [deleted by admin]
E) Another leap year adding an extra day to the calendar year.
F) Robert Petrick begins the thought process of planning one of the best bridge scenes ever
G) all of the above.
Oh what the heck, at this point we might as well have Doc Brown take us back to April 10th 1970 on Friday.
That way we will all be 50 years younger with the same brains we have now and have a brand-new 46 years to get back to November 2016
gmpullmanFor some reason I'm in the mood to watch Hunt For Red October ?
I LOVE that movie.
I actually phonetically memorized the words to the Soviet National Anthem so I could sing along with that iconic scene!
"Let them sing"
"I'm not sure what I heard sir, it sounded like singing."

Well, that elevated section was my dad's, before he passed. He was modeling the Rio Grande in HOn3, but only got one section done- the wooded area in the last few seconds before returning west. The plan is, Im removing the elevated grade carefully (hand laid track, trying to preserve it), and build on the benchwork he built. The finished section will be saved and preserved. A little tribute to his modeling.
(My Model Railroad, My Rules)
These are the opinions of an under 35 , from the east end of, and modeling, the same section of the Wheeling and Lake Erie railway. As well as a freelanced road (Austinville and Dynamite City railroad).

Jimmy_BraumHey everyone. I finally got around to doing a video of my layout so far. What do you all think?
Thanks Jimmy! You are ambitious. That's a big layout. I wish I had the room you have to build!
I noticed towards the end of the video there's quite a high elevated section. What are your plans there?

Good Morning All,
TF - I hope three months is enough. With all racing shut down, we only have half the usual work booked so even when we are ok to go back it will be slow.
I'll have a regular to go please Zoe.
After chores yesterday I spent a few hours on the layout. I took another crack at the downtown scene but no great inspiration yet. This shows what I can get on one street. The main street is also a State highway and is even more awkward as I can really only get stuff on one side of it and everything is angled. Eventually it will fall into place. The buildings are all recycled at this point from the last layout and included when I opened the box "Elliots Diner" named after a previous version of this virtual diner. Catch y'all later. J.R.

Good morning
I have sore clutch muscles in my upper left leg that I never knew I had before.
It was such a beautiful bright sunshiny day yesterday. Judy and I went cruising around in the Mustang for 5 hours.
We went Park hopping and took brakes. The river was a little high. If you look at the bents (piers?) being built, the one finished and the one with the jacket on it by the barge crane is where the channel goes through.
The water in the parking lot behind the car was only an inch deep. I told Judy I wanted to park in the water and take a picture like my car can drive on water.
She said are you kidding me, you haven't let a drop of water touch your car in 30 years and you're going to start now. I looked at her like this and said, yeah you're right.
I installed a flux capacitor in the Mustang this morning and drove back into the past to look up Doc Brown.

hon30critterThe forums won't let me say what I think about the big corporations who profit at the expense of peoples' lives.
Mornin'....
Just checking in to see if anyone missed me..... Zoe, I could use a refill of my dark roast coffee in a O&W Mug please.
Sun is shining outside here in the Finger Lakes and I..... May for the second year in a row.... May be the first in the neighborhood to mow lawn. Shhheeeeesh! I never fertilize or kill weeds or anything like that. Don't see any reason to buy poisons to put on it. So... Being the one around here who absolutely hates to waste time mowing have the greenest and fastest growing lawn in town! Oh well, I will at least get to show off my EGO Electric lawn mower in action when folks are out walking (6' apart, of course) in the neighborhood.
At least the sun is finally decided to shine for part of today. Tonight I have a Martin Luther King Committee meeting to attend (Via Zoom). We will be deciding how to handle our scholarship work this Spring since we won't be able to have the Sholarship Dinner at all. The Dinner is our major fund raiser for the committee that pays the bills for the year. Our Scholarship Fund Drive in the Fall goes 100% towards the Scholarships. Could be a long Zoom Meeting and I am hoping to either talk by phone or meet with Zoom with my Lady Friend after that.
Take care out there and stay safe!!!!!

gmpullmanDoes Carole live near you?
Unfortunately not. She is in Vancouver and we are in Ontario. Her closest family is 800 kms away in Alberta. To add insult to injury she has a daughter who has severe mental health issues which cause her to constantly be very nasty to her mom.
Life is not fair!
Thank you for your thoughts Ed!
Dave
I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!
My thoughts are with you and your family, Dave. I'm sorry to hear that news. Hopefully she can overcome this. There's no rhyme nor reason some individuals have to bear so much when others seem to be immune to any adversity.
Does Carole live near you?
