I used to *play* with my fathers HO Scale railroad as a kid and he often passed on gems of wisdom on how to wire things and how to operate the railroad. I decided a couple of months back that I would model my own, and confident as I was chose N Scale (space is a problem) and bought what I needed for a couple of loops and a yard. I guess you could say I jumped the gun because after doing the benchwork I finally decided to lay down some track and hit what I can only describe as a crisis of confidence.

I have a good idea of what I did what to build but now looking at it, I'd kinda like a grade and the ability to expand things in the future without ripping major sections out.

Does anybody know of a source of good N scale layout ideas that fit within 4x8 that can be expanded in the future?? I'm realizing that while I have the technical know-how I am lacking inspiration....
