Maybe not so much of a stretch. Due to an undertaker's convention, the NYC RR was borrowing all the passenger equipment it could find to handle the traffic!

Here is a string of ATSF caboose(s), Athearn kits modified per an MR article by Andy Sperandeo many years ago.  The layout is in testing mode, prior to ballasting and scenery........

OK, this may be a stretch......how about something Illinois Central RR related?

This is the Butte Creek "Bullet." Four passenger cars, all shortened to 30 feet so they can negotiate the tight curves on my railroad.

The Kansas City Zephyr sometimes had just three cars shortly before it was discontinued.
