There is just something wrong with eating a burger with a knife and fork.

I hear you.  That's what my oldest daughter does.  Drives me nuts.  Even worse is then she'll eat the bun on the side!

. . .my wife has three small crocks of maple syrup that have solidified in our refrigerator. Do you know if it can be saved? . . .

I wonder if it can be microwaved. That's what we have done with honey when it has crystallized.

Oh, to have a plate of blueberry pancakes with real maple syrup.....

At our house this morning we had waffles made with applesauce instead of oil, topped with fresh blueberries. Next time I will give you a call.

Thanks, but it's the flour used to make the pancakes or waffles that I shouldn't have.  Blueberries are fine for me and plentiful here.

I ended up needing a double dose of insulin last night because I ate a burger with a bun.  There is just something wrong with eating a burger with a knife and fork.

Got the Hay field ( front yard) mowed finally. I had not been able to mow it for almost 4 weeks. The 77 Snapper bowled right over it.

Speaking of the hay field, the grass outside of our diningroom window had gotten bery long and gone to seed. I like it like that, after all we are on the prairie.

But yesterday I noticed that our renter had come by and swatted down all of the grass. Sooner or later, he will bail it all up and eventually feed it to the cows of him.

Garry,

Have left you a PM about Maine---

herrinchoker

Thanks for sending it. .... I wish I could open it and read it.

PM's ..... I rarely use this forum's messaging because it does not work as it should.

It says I have 1 new message ..... Must be the one from Herrinchoker. .... There is nothing I can click on to open it. .....

I have been a member of this forum for years, and the messaging feature has always failed to work as it should.

Good morning.  Just coffee again this morning.

Have not accomplished much lately.  Have not even opened the new locomotive's box to look at it.

Keep cool, Ulrich.

Hope you have a good trip to Maine, Garry.  That is one of the few of the 50 states I have never visited.

J.R., too bad about the dietary restrictions.  I'm not sure I would want to hang around a breakfast buffet if I couldn't eat any of it.

Ken, good luck dealing with SS.  My experience is that they are incapable of doing anything quickly.

TF, my wife has three small crocks of maple syrup that have solidified in our refrigerator.  Do you know if it can be saved?

We are in the middle of an unusual July.  The past two days, our temperatures have topped out in the low 80s.  Sorry Ulrich.  This is unusual for us, but appreciated.

Have a good Wednesday!

Good Morning All,

A regular and a toasted blueberry muffin slathered with butter please Zoe.

Back off the road for a week and then Tamworth N.H. with Mt Equinox the week after. Just real busy this year. Next two weekends I get to run my Lotus 18 so I'm happy with that. May do one more race weekend after Equinox if time and funds permit.

After taking out my swinging gate access to the layout I haven't made a final plan to fix it. I am leaning towards just making a lift out lightweight panel and the heck with it. Kit bashing a double track bridge is the second option but likely I will go the easy route.

Good to see Rob stop in. I can sympathize with the projects lying fallow thing due to w..k getting in the way.

Garry, Maine has lots of good stuff to see between Ghost Railroads and 2' gauge that still runs. Amtrak terminates their east coast stuff in Maine and there is the transport museum in Owls Head though that isn't big on railroad history. Have fun.

Busy finishing up stuff for the next few weeks out so back to the shop it is.

    Ciao,  J.R.

Ah, I have top. Put it on my (virtual) tab please ladies. Not sure what we have for Lion food to substitute for Wildebeast but we can rustle up something. If you put the buffet out again, please make sure you have some healthy fare for those of us with dietary restrictions. I am still on grass, dirt, rocks per docs orders.

Chamomile tea in a AT&SF mug, please.

Good to see a number of old regulars still here. Hope everyone is doing well.

Still haven't made the time to finish the addition, which will free up the "train room", but am getting closer. That project goes dormant for months at a time, then I take a break from the farm and other stuff to chip away at it.

Cheers! Cowboy

Rob .... It is very good to see you back here. Please feel free to visit often. (It might be  good idea to identify your name, Rob, in your posts so recent members know who you are. )

Ulrich .... Best wishes as you prepare for your move. It is okay if you do not explain all of the details about why you are leaving your present location.

TF ... Thanks for sharing the photos of Big Boy 4014. I enjoyed seeing it in Utah in May.

I've been distracted from model railroading in recent days working on our boat. It has a short circuit or something that runs down the battery. I have yet to figure it out.

Also, we are getting ready for our trip to Maine. Our flight leaves Nashville Saturday morning.

Good night, everybody.

Flo, give the gang and I a Beer please.

Felling a little better tonight about things.

Wife called Social Security today. Looks like there is a chance they will wave the fine or let me make payments. If they don't, I will have to move and wreck my credit.

Front Yard I am pleased with how it is starting to look. Got up more of the garden border and spread 4 cubic feet of mulich. I have 12 more cubic feet left, looks like I only need 26 feet more? Whistling

Evenin'

Give me a large fries.

Got the Hay field ( front yard) mowed finally. I had not been able to mow it for almost 4 weeks. The 77 Snapper bowled right over it.

That was a lot of grass. It cooled down considerably here today and my yard dried up pretty good after yestrday's drenching rain.

I ordered some control arms and tie rod ends for my 97 Saturn. I feel after 235K it is time for some new ones , plus it is kind of clunky sounding when it does over bumps etc.

snack time.

I could only provide you friends with my pictures of 4014.  Judy has the sounds.  The Sounds were way better than the pictures.  The Tick's the buzzing all the sounds that thing made I didn't even know they made.  Sometimes that steam engine sounded like it was Godzilla echoing under the bridge.

I wish I could provide the sound track for you guys.  Too much I tell you I only hope someone else has that to post.

It was really something else

Good Afternoon everyone!

Well it has been one day shy of a month since I last posted on the MR forums. Alot has happened since then!

I thougth I'd post a quick update on were I've been. Currently I'm in eastern Washington staying with my grandparents. My grandpa is building a sizable HO scale SP&S layout and I am helping him some. Tomorrow one of his friends is due to come over and show me how to handlay track on my grandpa's layout! I'm really looking forward to it!

The reasons for my absense for the past month is I had a significant family reunion and have been doing quite alot of traveling (including a trip to Train Mountain for those of you who do livesteam!). For the remainder of the summer I dought I will be able to be on here as much as I have been, but hopefully can periodically contribute and get back to normal (whatever that is!) once school begins again!

Everyone have a great afternoon!

Regards, Isaac

Anyway, I heard someone mention "breakfast buffet"? Dig in, all...

Breakfast buffets are a casualty of my healthy diet.  I can't eat a lot of it, anyway, and I can't eat enough to make the price of a buffet even reasonable.

So, one day it's yogurt and fresh fruit, and the next day is eggs and a sprouted grain English muffin, with a couple of slices of bacon once a week.

Oh, to have a plate of blueberry pancakes with real maple syrup.....

Good Evening, Folks!

Summer is back and we actually are in the midst of a heat wave. 95F and rising! These are they days I wish we had A/C!

How can a man hold his diet with all the food shown here? I am just glad that it is only virtual food, low on calories and cholesterol!

We ay have to speed up pur planned move to Denmark. While on one hand this is good news, the reason behind on the other hand is a rather sad and disturbing one.

We have started to dispose of things we won´t be needing where we are going.

Happy times!

Mornin' folks!

New carpet is being installed as I type.  Hopefully the remodeling will be finished sometime later this week and I can start moving stuff back into the room again.  Halleluia!

Steven Otte

Anyway, I heard someone mention "breakfast buffet"? Dig in, all...

Well, Steven, just looking at that buffet just caused me to gain 2 lbs.!  I don't see anything that is in my diet there, but thanks anyway!  I am glad you let the "poems" stand.....Whistling

As of last night about 10pm I have a date for my 55th. class reunion....  The lady I am seeing and I talked for about an hour and after discussing the upcoming reunion festivities she told told me she just put it on her calendar! Big Smile  I told her I would be honored to have her with me!

Have been making time in my busy schedule to start getting more done on the layout.  Have a lot to get done before the convention!!!  Did some foundation (scenery) painting and may be finishing up (just the roof needing work) a couple of buidings to add to that area of the layout later today.  This is an area that has been sitting half done for about a decade now.  About time I got more done on it.  Who knows what the future holds for me anyway.  Best case scenario would be I have to tear it down and move???

Have a great day out there!

Sorry Steve.  You're right, that was a little pushing the borderline.

I laughed so hard when I heard that joke way back in high school, it's surprising that I even remembered it all these years.  Anyway,  no more of that.

Thanks for that great breakfast buffet.  I only wish I had that right nowSmile, Wink & Grin

It was a beautiful day.  I will remember it always.
