Timmy, Something railroad related definitely!

Theres an old 80s suburban off the interstate in BR that I swear is in SP daylight paint, and it has a circle on the sides where the SP circle logo would go. I'll try to get a photo next time I go into town.

 Eveing Folks

Flo, give the gang and I a Beer and Ulrich, Steven and Rick what they want. By the way, Jan are you out there?

Work Front. Seems Nancy got away with her screwing of Carla. She did not come into the store to get her Credit Card till after she got the mattress. Sigh Nancy must have covred her tracks well. The fact that the one she thought she was buying sides are a Dark Blue and the one she got is Dark Gary did not set off any alarms. Whistling

why would any sane peson want to jump out of a perfectly good airplane?

Because it paid a extra $75.00 a month when I was in the XVIII Airborn. Smile, Wink & Grin Back when I was in the Army that was 25% of the pay of a E-2. There is way more to it but the $75.00 helped.

Steven I am not going to jump on your butt about the post. I have pulled many jokes on my friends in my life time.

Good evening diners.  (bittersweet)

I had the best day ever with my daughter Brittany.   It was because of my best friend Erv that lives in Prior Lake.... My neighbor where I used to live.

It was my last day with my daughter visiting from China.  She teaches English there and will be returning tomorrow red eye flight.

I am so proud of her. She has become somewhat fluent with Mandarin language living there for three years.... I only see her one month every year.

I took her out to Prior Lake today.  My good friend Erv put us in the lake with his boat and said go have fun.  We did, we had so much fun.

An hour ago I just hugged and kissed my daughter and said goodbye for another year.... we had a great day.

Henry:

Here are the links to my turntable upgrade threads:

The 'short' version.

http://cs.trains.com/mrr/f/88/t/261225.aspx

The rather long version:

http://cs.trains.com/mrr/f/88/t/258912.aspx

The long version does have some great suggestions about replacement motors and how to make the contacts that feed the bridge.

My son lives "just around the corner" compared to your daughter - nor more than an hour´s drive away, yet we don´t get to see him more than two or three times a year. He is always too busy to find some time for his parents.

I know that one day he will regret having always been to busy.

Happy times!

hey everyone, what's going on?

Work again, and I'm starting to feel it lol. Oh well, payday will be nice(8hrs overtime).  It's been raining every day here for awhile, and while I love rain, it's starting to get excessive.

My club had our portable layout out on Sunday...normally we run DC and DCC (former inside, latter outsid) but somehow, both mains ended up DCC only, after rewiring, Go figure.

Wel, no luck on the dating game for me, so I give up.

Dave, Thanks

I don't know if it counts as juvenile but I know someone who after freezing a dead rattlesnake in a coiled position in his freezer, put it in his buddies' pick up truck.

MR Here is something interesting. I added just enough craft blue paint to Mod Podge to make the palest blue you can imagine.  I added water so it would self level.  I'm not sure it's dry 4 days later.  The color precipitated out in various places in an unpredictable manner.  I think the gray-blue color still needs to cure.  The other blue took on a purplish shade I am not fond of.

There was a 1st coat, with no color.  On top of that I added some darker brown.  In a test I found too much paint makes it opaque.  That was initially my plan, but I liked the translucent look.  The surface texture is perfect.

Mornin' Folks.......

Sad day in the music world. Aretha Franklin passed away this morning 9:50am at her home in Detroit.  She was among the best of the best and was the heart of Soul!

Rest in peace!

Yeterday was a bit sad for me as well.  My wife, Diane, passed on August 15, 1987.  Thirty-one years ago.  I still miss her!

Steven: When I got my first job after college I received some great advice. I was young, ready to go, and was quick to speak my mind in meetings. After a couple of meetings, where some of my comments missed the mark, a colleague of mine told me, "Bring a cup of coffee to every meeting. Before you make a comment, take a sip of the coffee before speaking. Give your mind the little extra time to think about how the comment will be perceived." His advice has served me well. Stream-of-consciousness speaking/writing works well for a personal journal and for some English-class assignments, but not so much for public environments. Just a little advice, worth every cent you paid for it. Wink

Hello again!

I'm sitting around waiting to the guy who borrowed my sound equipment two days ago to get here to return it...  I just left a message on his cell phone asking him what is going on.  They were supposed to be here round 10am.

"Bring a cup of coffee to every meeting. Before you make a comment, take a sip of the coffee before speaking. Give your mind the little extra time to think about how the comment will be perceived."

Very, very good advise!  At this point/time in my life I am smart enough to most of the time, at least, reread everything I post here and try to stop and mull over what to say face to face.  I think Robert Frost said it best:

"Before I built a wall I'd ask to know
What I was walling in or walling out,

Morning diners,

Thanks for the advice guys.

Here's a bit of irony right here, so my friend (who's family are avid U of Michigan Wolverine fans) just texted me and right after I got her text I get an email from the Hammes Notre Dame Book Store about the Irish-Wolverines game September 1st.

In addition to being a UT Austin Longhorns fan I root for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Morning all!

Hobby Front: I went and did it again: I bought another freight car that I really didn't need. This time it's a Milwaukee smooth side cylindrical hopper. Of course, before I bought it, I made sure that it was accurate. Should be here Saturday. It will be added to the 150-160 pieces of rolling stock that I already have. All I have to do is add a couple of decals. (COTS and ACI panels.)

Also bought a small personal blender as I couldn't get the foam chopped fine enough for my liking with the big one. Can only do small batches but it seems to do the job.

Got an e-mail this morning that changed my life!

"FROM THE UNITED NATIONS POLICE (UNPOL) REGARDING RECOVERY OF YOUR LOST MONEY. Attention:Beneficiary, We hereby inform you that the Scotland Yard Police, Interpol, Federal Bureau of Investigation, (FBI) United States of America, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of Nigeria and all the African Crime fighter leaders have come together to stop scam/Internet fraud in Nigeria and all round Africa."

Wow, ALL the African Crime Fighter Leaders? Even Black Panther?

The e-mail goes on that they have collected $2.6 billion from the "frustraters" (stupid auto-correct, they must mean "fraudsters") in their jails, including such notorious criminals as Robert S. Mueller III, James B. Comey Jr., and Miss Suzan. Apparently they've collected so much ill-gotten gains that they can't sort out who it all belongs to, so the African Crime Fighter Leaders are just handing it out in $5 million pre-paid Master Cards. And all I have to do to claim mine is send in my name, personally identifying information, bank account number, and $350. Woo-hoo! See ya later, wage-slaves, I'm on my way to easy street! Laugh

 Afternoon Diners

Flo, give the gang and I a Beer and Ulrich, Rick and Steven what they want.

Day Off My normal routine was thrown off today and I was out of the house by 9:30 AM. While it is only 2:43 PM it feels like 6:30 PM to me.

Kid I know the sickens well! Just be glad you don't live with in 2 miles of your local Hobby Shop like me! I remember when at one point I wanted 100 pices of rolling stock. Luckely they where still making Athearn Blue Box kits that I was buying for around $3.70 each. I hit the 100 car goal after around 2 years. I have been in the hobby now for around 12 years and I think I have around 350 pices of rolling stock? Whistling

Don't forget MI5,6,12,ect... and the CIA, oh and INTERPOL! Laugh they just love giving away money!Laugh

Gotta give 'em credit for creativity, maybe they should go apply as creative talent for a reality show or something!Laugh

So I did some research on how much it'd be to get the Herald for my RR made into a hi-res image suitable for decal printing, it'll cost 40 bucks for 4 versions of the logo, it be 1 NWP and 1 SWP in KCS block font, then there'd be one of each with a strike thru reading NORTHWESTERN PACIFIC or SOUTHWESTERN PACIFIC so I don't know if I'm going to do that or not.

Good day, all. Another smoke filled warm sunny (I think) kinda day.

Steven O, I find it hard to believe that these guys ever hook anyone with their scams. I had some artwork for sale once and was contacted by a guy in Manchester England wanting to buy it. "Rev. Lumpkin Williams" was his name. I instantly knew what he was and went back and forth with him for two weeks leading him on, getting him to agree to buy even more of my artwork that I had not even advertised for sale. It is a long story and I had a lot of fun with this idiot. In the end, when the exchange of money for art was to take place, I gave him the address of the Manchester Police station where my Cousin was a constable. I am assuming he showed up and realized he had been had as I got one last E-mail stating an emergency had happened and he could no longer buy the art.Laugh

I have been trimming back roses today, a big job as they have marched across the lawn about ten feet from where they had been planted. The advance had to be stopped.Laugh

Coffee break is over, the kid wants to go golfing, that sounds better than dealing with roses.

All the best to all.

Evening diners,

Got a battery for my truck today, gassed her up with some Plus, and went to the car wash, I got 20 minutes of free washing! I don't know how but I did! I cleaned up the interior some.

Tomorrow I have to go meet my friend to give her her gift, we were supposed to meet today but her sister had to take care of some stuff and work so she had to cancel.

Anyways, not much going on, I'll be around.

It is political, which makes it even funnier.  The Comey and Mueller fans would know that they aren't in jail.  The scammers are targeting and assuming that the deplorables don't know who Ms Suzan is and think that Comey and Mueller are in jail.

And who is Ms Suzan, anyway?

Morning all, just checking in. Have been busy , wife has had a few health issues and I think they have it figured out. She hurt her ab muscles excercising. The pain meds and muscle relaxer caused reaction that gave her pancreatitis and maybe ulcers. Luckily the pancreatitis is mild and not the full blown stick you in the hospital variety. Endo to look for ulcers Thursday.

and in other news the movie theatre I do tech work for called about a strange liquid coming from the wire harness on the popcorm popper. A large hole had corroded through the popping kettle and allowed oil into the internal portion of the ketlle, filling the electric junction box full with oil that it traveled up the wire harness. So $500 later I put in a new "inner" kettle. I had to clean the outer shell and electrical box etc. with "engine bright" to get all the grease out. It had been leaking for years but let go with a large hole. So I said, " you will clean your kettle all the way from now on or you will have this issue again. "
