We all know this - the trains are set-up for a couple of days, usually for the Christmas season, and then they have to be taken down, put in their boxes and stored until that ceretain time of the year comes again.

Well, a friend of mine shares this fate with his rather unusual model railroad, showing a early 1900´s logging operation. His "train set" is set up maybe once or twice a year. It takes a day to assemble all the sectional track, wire the signals and get the trains running.

The line operates a Shay and a Forney and both locos are just a show! But see for yourself:

Unfortunately, the Shay suffered severe damages in a derailment two weeks ago and is now up for a major repair/overhaul job.
