As I was cleaning wheels on each car of my reefer train, I noticed the P2K wheel equiped cars were a dozen times more dirty than the IMs. In fact, almost all the cars with IM wheels were polished and clean. The P2k sets accumulated all the rail grime like a magnet while the IMs stay polished. And they've all been on the rails the same time period.

I hear people say replace plastic wheels sets with Proto or IM metal ones. It doesn't take long for gunk to collect on Proto wheels. Intermountain's are clearly superior. Better contour, heavier metal, sharper axles. Superior.
