Afternoon guys
Feeling much better today. I woke up around 1030 though. Maybe the lack of sleep the night before last, combined with an empty stomach, and the generic Benadryl caused my episode. Now that I think about, the same thing happens when I'm really tired. Still gonna talk to my doc when I see her next.
Been working on getting my brother's miata together. It's together now, but the hood doesn't line up with the fenders. Might be bent, which wouldn't suprise me. The sheet metal (even parts of the frame rails) are really thin. Like thinner than code 83 rail. I guess that's how that thing weighs so little.
Gonna go to the train club later. Don't think I'm gonna mess with the other GP38-2 at the moment. I can bring it down next week.

Hey folks, just strolling past, had to stop in and take a look at that picture of a GP with an F. Great shot. I vaguely remember as a kid, ridding on the hay wagon, while out baling, grandpa had a hay field within site of the SOO LINE, (former WCLtd., Soo, WC and now CN) Sometimes we would see 3 GP7's or 9's, I think, and an F unit. The ruling grade for the line from Fond du Lac WI, to Chicago, IL, was a hill just south of Fond du Lac, called Byron Hill. If I remember right, SOO mixed in an F unit in their consists quite regularly. OK, back to it, gotta finish putting the weed and fertilizer stuff down, followed by the grub stuff.

Go back to w**k tomorrow and have the water rescue training in the morning. Nothing else is going on today, just marking the time until vacation starts.

I an glad so many folks here like the GP and F unit picture I stumbled across today. In fact the other day I was wondering if GP where ever ran with F units, now we all know.
Yard War's. Got a lot done to the front today, house look's like it is lived in again! Trimmed the Evergreens, trimmed the bushes, got the dead leaves up, used weed killer and got the grass cut! Funny, I enjoyed my self doing it? That seems odd, I hate cutting the grass!
Repaired mower is working better than the day I bought it!
Well, no Engine Repair Time but the Honey Do List is shorter.

got teh peepers Lightly examined...for a massive $249 plus tax he would do a thorough exam. I took the cheaper exam, adn the new frames and glasses already cost {with the cheap exam} $330! MOH has to have tfhe REALLY expensive ones at about $500 a pop, so I get out relatively cheap. $100 was the new frames, but mine are plumb worn out. So are the old trade off pair I had,, the metal is deteriorated so they are out.
We have been "spending moeny like we had it", unfortuantely. I have reconstructed the buget for the next 6 months to include SOME purchases we made.It will take a year to balance the budget again.
Now to save {?!} money to go to Baltimore {The B&O museum, KEN will be jealous{?}} and Timonium {Train show} later in August?
Well we had dinner out at Taco Bell for a change to something totally "out of the bun" thanks to returning bottles!

After long and careful thought, they have convinced me. I have come to the conclusion that they are right. The aliens did it.
Geeps and F's ran together all the time on the BN, I may have to get some B&O GP's and F's. the B&O's my favorite eastern road followed by NYC and Pennsy.
anywho here's a picture where I plan to put the roundhouse. the right side instead of the left, I will screw the turntable down so it'll be level. It'll get moved down so the divider isn't squishing the pasco side.

Daughter was on FB earlier, talking with PFC Son. He (and his platoon buddies)are at this time awaiting air transport out of the Sandbox. This is MUCH earlier than anticipated!! He should be CONUS by the17-18th of this month. VERY happy and excited Dad here!!

Most of my day was spent watching TV and working on the newest GP40. Mostly painting and adding some detail parts. It's somewhat hard to see but if you look you can see the coupler cut lever on the pilot and see also that it has a shelf coupler.

Been a long and very busy day around these parts and another day with absolutely no Model Railroading in the mix... But, I did finish the construction of the first of 3 raised bed for gardening I am building this Spring (hope to do much of #2 tomorrow before the showers arrive), drove over to the old colleague's house and got a good load of firewood in the Pip (probably 1/6th. facecord), and made the presentation for the changes in the sanctuary at church to the property committee. Came back home tonight and started looking at the costs of a couple other landscaping projects I want to do this spring.
The meeting went well at church as I had the support of the guy who usually does the sound and the interim pastor... They are going to start looking at the cost and the options for putting up acoustic panels in the back of the sanctuary as well as some other corrections in sound they have in mind. I did suggest that controlling the noise floor of the space should be done first and then look at the other projects. One thing they want is to be able to bring sound from the service into the "Social Hall" (dining room) and a couple of parlors connected to it. I emailed the Pastor and the sound man after I got home that I can take care of the Social Hall easily with just some mic cord, the XLR ends for it and some time... I will donate the wire and XLR plugs for it. We already have sound in the Social Hall and I just need to add a feed from the mixer in the Sanctuary.

I went to the train club today. I used the JMRI there to speed match the GP38-2 I just finised to my GP30 and GP15-1. Also got my ATSF SD40-2 speed matched and consisted to my 2 BLI C30-7s. I'm probably going to keep the SD40-2, I can say it's a run-through or pool unit. ATSF power wasn't uncommon on Southbound coal traffic from Wyoming. Heck, I could have SP, DRGW, KCS, and/or MKT power too. That reminds me, I need to work on getting my coal train back together.
As for my doctor? She said the same thing as I said, but did advise I get checked. So I'll set up an appointment for that one.
Gary and Ken, For a while in Marias pass the helper set was 3 F-units ABB and a GP. I have the issue of TRP that shows that.
Terry, Good to hear you're soon will be back. IMO, the "sandbox" should have been taken care of the first time. But that's politics, I think.
Yeah, Vince the BN locos book I have has a whole chapter on those covered wagons that'd roam the PNW as well as the tri cities area(I can't remember). Some guys hated them because they had holes in them(E units too), as well as the crankshafts sometimes breaking and flying around inside the unit.
I asked a former BN employee(youtuber Wesolint) about 'em he said they were gone by the time he hired in. lots of old geeps were still around at that time, even the E units outlasted those buggers. #724 the F I have was retired after a crash. I need to look for my E units #9942 & 9943, I know they're E9A's(I'll have to check the loco # in the back of the book).

Sunday morning the pastor's wife stayed home with the flu. I think the pastor was cantageous because about half of the congregation cought the flu including myself. yesterday was miserable, but I' much better now.

Ken and others: ...... Actually it was common to see road switchers in consists with F-units or Alco FA's especially in the early 1960's. Each road had its own way of doing it however. .... I recall seeing many CB&Q locomotive consists with GP7, GP9, SD7, or SD9 as the center unit in a five unit consist. For example: F3A, F3B, SD7, FTB, FTA. Normally the A units of the F's were either leading or trailing. Only a handful of F3 A units were ever equiped with MU connections in the front end. The FT's were always coupled in AB sets with drawbars. Many F3's were also in AB sets with drawbars. .............. After N&W acquired the Wabash RR, it MU'ed Geeps with steam generators with Wabash E units. ........ GN also MU'ed its E7's with Geeps with steam genrators.
Speaking of the B&O, I road the B&O Capital Limited from Chicago to Washington, DC and back many years ago. In more recent years, I went to the B&O RR Museum, and it is a great exhibit.

The "Panic Button" at the Chamber of Commerce, has been very firmly "pressed" and the train is screeching to a "halt".
What will we do?!? Any suggestions from the fine folks here in the dinner?
My thoughts are: I've heard that our Governor cares about fishing, as little as I do. So, he's good. It's his entourage of media folks that will of course write nasty articles on how Park Rapids is: "So behind the times" that it couldn't heat the area lakes so they would be ready for such an important event!

Ah, Wednesday morning. Tuesday nights I still play hockey, officially it's no-check but we still have pushing and shoving. It's a mixture of guys (and occasionally a woman or two) varying in age from early 20s to 66, which would be me. It's not exactly Stanley Cup quality. Last night, we won something like 24-9. I got a "Tuesday Night shutout," which is anything less than 10 goals allowed. It's hard to drag myself to work on Wednesday mornings, though.
It looks like questionable weather for a few days. I've got to cut some Masonite for the carfloat's "dirty water" base. It's not a big deal, but for some reason it's one of those things I hate doing.

About the taxes collected over the net. I guess I have no real qualms as we are supposed to pay them anyway. (ya, like when we come home from vacation. We wrote down the sales taxes we paid and if we paid less to other states, we paid the difference to Illinoys. We’re supposed to do that you know.) What gets me is we have a line on our Illinoyz taxes for that. Now That’s not what gets me. What gets me, is you MUST fill in the line, and the minimum is like $3.
My Aunt passed away yesterday morning. I’m really glad I went down to see her those last couple times. It was a blessing as she was really wasting away from cancer. Luckily she never suffered painwise from it and we all are grateful she was taken before she did.
Got my Cub Cadet started yesterday, she’s alive and kickin at the young age of 36! I think I’ll use it to roll the yard one last time before handing over to the new owner. Who by the way said heck yes I still want it.
Outside w**k today so guess I’ll get a move on. Probably do some trimming of bushes with the hand trimmers. Gotta be quiet until like 8 or 9…... yuppies. Lunch is in town of course as we need a couple things from the store.
