I have a newer, not exactly sure of the manufacturing date, HO scale Rivarossi 4-6-4 Hudson. I want to do a little electrical work and would like to add a DCC decorder. After have inspected the engine and tender, I,ve come to the conslusion that I will have to locate the decorder in the tender.

While inspecting the tender, is appears the front is somehow secured through the drawbar pin and I can't see how to disassemble it. I'm afraid to pry or pull with any excessive force for fear of damaging it. Does anyone know how to pull this apart, am I missing some hidden screw? The instruction sheet does not clearly indicate how to remove the top of the tender.
