On the new Atlas bulletin, they have Kato RSD 12 shells. I contacted Atlas and later Kato, but I cant find power chassis for the shells from either company, nothing on the usual auction sites either. Any body have an insight as to what or where a power chassis might be found? R. Staller
The old Atlas "RSD 12" as I recall wasn't an accurate model, it used the RS-3 chassis but with three-axle trucks and a shortened body to fit on the chassis...so basically the RSD 4/5 only with a different body.
The RSD12 was a 6-axle version of the RS11. The 1:1 scale engine had a few differences in dimensions. Atlas-Kato just mounted C trucks under the RS11 model, and called it close enough.
To use the shell, you would need to come up with an RS11 chassis, and C trucks. The Trainman RS32-36 would provide most of the parts, and swap in some C trucks. Easy, as they fit right in where the B trucks were.

Okay, I've managed to get all the parts, except the alco "c" trucks. Anybody have a line on where I might be able to find a set?
