Evening Gang: Well if any of you think spending money is fun, it wasn't. I'm really bushed. I just hope that we didn't waste it on something that we won't get alot of use from. I tried to work in some train stuff. I was going to get some steel to make portable track sections for the live steamer. The boss said no dice. Oh well.Sigh [sigh]

Hey the giffs are working.

Ryan: We eat a Cracker Barrel so much they gave us a parking place. We do eat there often. The food is good and the service is good also.

Duke: Maybe it would be a good idea for the opening of the new dinner to tell abit of the history of the old CS? I think the story of the last new years party would be good.Tongue [:P]

I guess that I'm going out to my sons place to check fences tomorrow. He is having a poacher/tresspasser problem out there. There is one case being prosecuted now. What is it about some people that they think they can waunder on other peoples property. The open range is gone.

Well I guess I'll hit the sack. Take care all and I'll see you tomorrow.

James I have the GP-9 parked next to the old coffee shop with the 2 boxcars the back one has the ramp and the small forklift to move the pool table, grill , ovens, corner benches with whoever is napping and what ever else is to big or heavy so flip or any of us other old fools  don't hurt our backs.

J.R.   Sadly, no, I ahve not got the 0-8-0 up and running yet, the holidays have had me running in circles, and now the wife is down the last two days really sick with a bad head cold, this one has her down and out for the count. So, I am chief cook and bottle washer amongst all my own duties.....BUT...I will get to it J.R.!!!!!

RE: history of the coffee shop, since i'll have a bit of time on my hands tonight, I think I can do a little description of the old one and we can go from there.

RE: the name, i'm in two minds, some of you like the suggested name, but since i'll be kicking it off, some of you want me to decide, I guess we'll wait and see, eh? it's now 2:19pm only 9 hours 41 minutes until CSMTNL- Day (Coffee Shop Move To New Location - Day)

I'll be heading into to town around 6:30 PM to photograph the 9pm fireworks, and then i'll be straight home to get the new shop prepared for opening. Big Smile [:D]

I'll probably stop in a bit before I head off tonight to see what's going on...

 I TOTALLY AGREE!!!!

That's exactly what "The Duke" would say!

God rest his soul, and NO ONE will ever fill his shoes again!

Though it's off subject, recently I purchased one of those 2 for 11 doolars DVD specials at Walmart, I picked up only one with some old westerns on it, and one of them has an almost 2 hour documentary about John Ford westerns hosted by John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart, and Henry Fonda!

It's an OLDIE but GOLDIE and well worth having!

Will start laying track soon.

Three tables ened to end, 6 feet wide, and 8 feet long, total length is 24 feet.

2 inch foamboard (pink) as the top.

Working with some track layout plans now.

Well I'm alittle towards either track side coffee shop as its always been called the coffee shop but also can go with track side dinner I also don't really care for cafe. I'll through another in how about track side coffe house.

but then we have to look we have been know to serve mixed drinks for a few and we do serve meals and a coffee shop or house really would have more like snacks or lite meals not the big meals we come up with here so I guess we do need to go with dinner or maybe something like the trackside resturant.

Hey how about just the trackside and drop the coffee house , coffee shop , dinner, or cafe?

Jeffrey, I like it! we need an animated one so the neon flashes, that'd be cool! Yeah!! [yeah]

Ok, 5:20PM, 6hrs 40minutes until CSMTNL-Day. I'm about to head off to the city to photograph the fireworks, i'm getting my gear ready and taking the bus and train there, about 40-50 minutes travel, and then a couple of hours to hold my vantage point.

And i've got what could be the last totp honours for the old coffee shop.

here's the credit card.

About the signage out front; there are several signs out there now.  Are we bringing those?

Morning All!  Shock [:O]

Alien [alien]

I have not been visiting for some time now, but I am shocked to see that the shop is closing down?? is it going to be locked, what is the reason ? have you all been misbehaving?? I looked back some pages but do not quite understand Shock [:O] "technical"  issues ?

I hope the contemporary visitors will find a new place to chat, I hope I am welcome there as well, despite I am not very regular visitor lately.

So on this last day of 2006 I wish you all a very good and fullfilling 2007

best wishes from the Netherlands

Take care and stay safe!

Lupo,

Well with 358,195 views and 27,830 replies this has become a really long thread not counting the pictures and stuff.  The Administrator would like us to close this thread and start a new one. The address to the new Coffee Shop called the Trackside Diner will be advertised on the last post of 2006.
