Been out picking up sticks and mowing. With luck I’ll get most of it done today.

PC , I know how you feel when it comes to money being spent before you get. I collect aluminum cans, and sold $80 worth last fall with the idea of going to a swap meet, when Mother got done, I didn’t have enough left to pay for the gas to get there. Better luck next time.

Ryan got the same thing this morning for awhile when I try to get on here. Don’t know why. On the Kity and the litter box, caught her going potty on the layout, spanked her bottom and put her in the litter box. She’s been going in there ever since. Lost her awhile this morning, guess she was still mad for spanking her.

Ding , that’s nice size layout. One question though, are you going to be able reach the middle to work on it. To bad on them not having the decals, hope you find some soon.

Evening all and [#welcome] to the newbies.
Haven’t posted much but I have been sitting in the corner booth taking in the conversation.

*** I have the Fugate dvd’s as well and along with the DPB series there is a lot of info.
We have had our share of that liquid sunshine and the creeks are up but nothing like you have in some of the areas around you. We also had a big yellow ball in the sky today and someone said that it is called The Sun and the sky was blue with all of these funny looking White things in it. [%-)][:-^] Not to worry though,because we are suppose to get our Natural Gray sky back tomorrow. [:D][:-^]

Pics are looking good everyone and keep up the good work.

I did get my hay field mowed tonight and after I did it turned into a lawn,imagine that.

Good Evening Gang: I got over to the track for awhile today. Nothing running just some track work going on. I went back tonight after supper but was too tired to do much. I did get the injectors off so John could clean them out. I'll have to work on some fence by the UP tracks tomorrow morning before I head to the train meet. There's always something.

I going to get to bed before I fall asleep here and get thron out by the girls.

Hi Gang,

Just in for a minute.

A month ago I gave our association, here where I live, an American flag. 8' x 5 1/2' It's a beauty. I figured we could fly it on the old flag pole by our clubhouse. Our maintence man (bob) lowered the pole, painted it white, installed a new brass ball on top, and when done he swung Old Glory with a new cable. Today we got the old flood lights repaired and lit.
Bob was so taken back, that he told me that he didn't know if he was going to cry or salute. It looks so good at night, across the games field from the road.

The storms hit right after I posted last night high winds, hail, and rain, now the yard needs raking for all the leave and sticks in it. And I just got it cleaned up. Forecast for today is bout the same, though the thunderstorms not suppose to be as nasty.
Won't be much done today, got Leroy an KC, might get some mud down during nap time.
Oh well need to rest my back n legs From yesterdays chores.

Paul , Don't think theres anything like Old Glory Flying at like that. It does kinda make you proud don't it.

Trying to talk Mother into a trip to Terre Haute tonight, if we can get awayfrom here early enough, hope to stop by the LHS, and check on some rataining walls, and get a new scale rule, never did find mine. Well time fur clores.

Well not much if any MR'ng going on as I am busy getting the garden prepped. And of course there's Miss Molly a.k.a. the "Dozer". Yep she'll make one heck of a gardener if I can teach her to "Just go after the Dandelions"!

The latest news is my package of Tsunami's are now being shipped so hopefully I may get some time in June to install them.

Good Morning Coffee Shop! I’ll have a tall Mocha Java please!

Must be a quiet day in the CS, posting on the same page as yesterday!

Oops! Not the same page after all! Looks like dinner is on me today!

And speaking of dinner......

We are having a luncheon at work today and I got recruited to make some good ole New Orleans style Red Beans and Rice with smoked sausage and corn bread. So I was slinging it last night at home in the kitchen and brought it all into work this morning. I am reheating the beans in a crock pot sitting just to the left of my computer. If you all are hungry today, have some virtual Red Beans and Rice with smoked sausage and corn bread. Now the cornbread is not your plain old style, I had to add some stuff to it, like sausage, garlic chives, and cheddar cheese. And it is a cheap meal too, all these fixings for 10 people only cost about $16.00. Are we hungry yet?

Which reminds me, how many times have you gone to a store to buy something and find out that either it was just on sale up until the day before, or it is going to go on sale next week? I suppose the later situation is better, but if you need it now, it gets a little tricky making the purchase. Another “day late, dollar short” experience.

If you are in the Orland, Ca area this Saturady and Sunday (20 and 21), stop by for a miniature railroad! It is 5" scale 15" gauge, the Orland Newville and Pacific Railroad. I will be there, running trains, conductoring, etc. So if you can stop by the Glenn County Fairgrounds this weekend and say "HI!" I will be the kid in the dark blue overalls.

Good evening to all, and pleased to say that the sun came out yesterday late afternoon, and all day today. We were very lucky here in central Mass, we only received 2" of rain total, and I live on a hill 1000 feet above sea level, and 400 feet above the nearest river/stream/creek, so we were much more fortunate that our neighbors near Lowell and the towns all along the Merrimac river and all it's tributaries in the Northeastern part of the state. They receive anywhere from 8 to 19+ inches!!!![xx(][xx(][:(][:O]
Sorrowfully, the only Eagle nest in the Northeast part of the state lost it''s two baby eagles due to all the heavy rains.

Last night I was awakened by a strange sound outside, when I turned on the spotlights, I was surprised to see it was the sound of grass growing at a terrible rate. So today, we got the ride-ons going after doing some of the annual maintenance, such as, cleaning and painting the underside of the mower decks, sharpening the blades, blowing out the mice nests in the engine compartments, etc. So most of the grass is now cut, just an acre to go tomorrow and we are all done with the first cutting of the season.

ED Those were great pictures Ed, thank you for sharing them with us, and now we have a face to go with the name....Paul.

DUKE I just started to watch the 1st DVD from Joe Fugate when Lorraine came home ( Tuesday ) and told me I had better get over the hill to Mike's house, the water was running brown into the watershed. I spent 5 hours in the pouring rain with a shovek, channeling the runoff water into safe areas and away from reservoir streams. I can't belive the amount of rain we have received since Mike build on the hillside 2 years ago. First it was the record rains of last October ( 15" in 24 hours ) and then this storm that lasted 9 days. My back is broken....I am too old for this defication.

Good evening folks: Amidst the boring duties of the day was a bright spot, a visit to two LHS.[^] So, I’ve now got the rubber for making rock castings, and wire for trying to do the frame work for a chain link fence, and some N siding for scratch building houses. The fence mesh I picked up at a fabric store, a bit big for N, but a darkish grey with a metallic sheen to it.[8D] I was taken by the article in the May MR about working security gates, and looked at my layout for places that need chain link fencing…there are quite a few!

Paul: Thanks for the update on the cow. Keeping fences up was the least likeable part of our time in “farm country” when we were in Ontario. No stock ourselves (we grew landscaping trees), but we had to keep the neighbour’s cattle out of our 40 acres. Take care mowing the ROW. I doubt the UP will go for it for insurance reasons. Maybe they will come and cut it themselves.

…more memory lane time… when we were on the aforementioned landscape tree farm we ran up an oil bill, and didn’t want to re-order ‘cause we hadn’t paid the last one. Winter of course, and getting crowded living around the wood stove in the kitchen. So, one morning (and I’d like to say I prayed and all, but I can’t remember exactly) I go to the mail, and there is a check for 37 cent more than we owed on the oil…a government program we had applied for so long ago that we had stopped expecting it!!! God is good all the time, all the time, God is good!

Just a quicky tonight Gang: Mary Ann and I spent the morning fixing fences by the UP and going to town to see the insurance folks. The cow was insured but only if she was hit while on a public road. Oh well. by the time we got back it was after 2pm so I headed to the track and we spent the rest of the afternoon working on the steam locomotive. I went home and picked up Mary Ann and we went back to the track for supper. After that we had to go home and hang a gate back its hinges. By then I was so tired that I just came in to the coffee shop and will head for bed. I did get to ride one train. John fired up the Alco FA/FBs and went the route. Tomorrow with any luck I'll get to do some running.

Well I think that I'll hit the shower and get to bed. I used to be able to run untill the wee hours of the morning. I must be getting old.

Cold again here, Sun this morning, rain this afternoon, highs in the 60s, I’m so tired of cold and wet. The hailstorm that came night before last, played h--- with flowers and such. Ruined some of them that were blooming heavy and beat the rhubarb down, The crop is not as good this year, but we’ll take what we can get, so I’ve got to cut it today. Most of it’ll go in the freezer anyway.
Went over by the LHS last evening, and Joe didn’t have anything I wanted. Out of scale rules and pin vises, no retaining walls, but Mother bought me an L&N dummy RS engine since I was being a good boy. Also got a couple pics to post later.

RT , sounds like you came out ahead on the yard sale anyway.

Der , I use window screen [the cloth] for chain link fence, might be something to look at.
Won’t be a productive weekend on the RR though, To much other stuff going on. Tomorrow we have 2 T-ball games in the morning, come home and get ready from my niece’s wedding and reception. I think Sunday I’m cooking ham n beans and corn bread over to campground A, if the weathers Ok.

Nothing for me today. I just stoped by to say "Yo". (A little Philly lingo there) I'm going to be a class Dad today for one of my kid's field trip. Then tonight I have to speak at the singles meeting at church.

I hope sometime this week to get back to finishing the Wather's cars and another kitbash I started about three weeks ago. BLI called this week to ask some more questions about the broken steam engine but still no parts. I'd just be happy to know they can get them, I can wait for them to arrive.
