Good eveninig gents.

FLIP Hey prayers for you and Deb, please let her know that we are thinking about you. Should you ever choose to live with the cold up hear let me know,we'll gladly put you up ! No rush on the pictures, let me know what you would like done with them.

Ken The water effects look great sir. Nice bash on the KFC as well screams a how to article to me [tup][swg]

Der Nice progress that you have made as well. That ami roadbed looks like it makes a good piece of blacktop. You see evrything does have a use after all [swg]

Fergie Hmmm let me think long and hard about signing up on that payscale. Mind you my field does not pay much more than that it seems. Did you get any further info on that piece of streetrail that you glimpsed through the pothole ?

*** You are so roght about the tools that let their "critters" loose after they become boared of them. One wonders howmany burmease pythons and large boas now infest our forests once they outgrew their "charm" as pets ?I'm glaad that Ontario has some fairly stringent rules and regs about owning dangerous creatures. Remember the fad in the 50's and 60's when people thought that panther's and tigers made for a good pet ?

PC Loved the museum shots, looks like they have some interesting pieces.

Hi all

Not much happening here, mostly revising (have two exams left, then university is over). Main worry is the current lecturer's industrial action – they're refusing to mark coursework or exams so whether my year will get any results remains to be seen. I suspect in the event people not graduating due to unmarked work we'll see a slew of lawsuits against both the universities and the lecturer's unions, rightly so to my mind – we can't do anything about their complaints (pay, as usual), so why are we the ones who suffer?

Peter, fine here thanks, how's things at your end? I'll have to have a rummage for some Russian train photos on the web – so far the Bachmann Chinese stock all appears to be very recent builds so it looks only vaguely similar to the Russian equipment, certainly not close enough for a bit of kitbashing. The coaches they offer look almost European as opposed to the old corrugated-side Soviet-era stuff.

John, it's now pelting down here again – clearly we got our monthly ration of sun over the weekend!

Rob, interesting story regarding the loose pets, there's been more than a few reports of “big cats” seen in the wild over here, not sure how accurate they are as no concrete evidence exists beyond a few shaky videos. Theory is that they escaped or were quietly released when new laws made it illegal to keep them without a license. Personally I can see how a few leopards/panthers/whatever could survive in the wild, they're usually seen in farming areas and a few sheep going missing wouldn't attract much attention.

Bye for now

Looks like some of you are making good progress on your layouts. I'll have to get back in the basement soon, I hope. We're in overtime mode here at work again.

FYI, I went to a neighborhood reunion with my mother on Saturday at a Hoss's Steak House. They had old advertising signs on the walls for decorating, some original, some copies, from the 40s and 50s. Guess where I'm going for dinner some weekend with a digital camera. May be able to make some signs for my pike on the computer.

Lunch is almost over, see you later.

How about saying yes to my wife. She and both of my children have Muscular Dystrophy and have been waiting over a year for an approval. Can't seem to get one. I don't know why either. Heck, the Muscular Dystrophy Association used my son as their poster child last year!

Sorry, had to vent there.

Afternoon all, nothing for me, having PBnJ with the kids today.

PC , I’ll check the camping out, when we get closer to deciding when we’re going or what we’re even doing for sure this summer. Kinda depends on gas prices and money.

DER , liked the scenery pics, I see your making a lot more progress than me, thanks. I’ll have to check on the brushes next time I’m at a LHS.

Ken L , the creek looks real, you’ve done a great job on it and KFC. Thanks.

DigitalGriffin , Welcome to the CS, I think your new to these parts. Tell us some bout yourself, RR interest, scale and such..

I finally got a pic of that SP that’s been coming though here a couple times a week. There was 3 UP’s leading

And heres an overall view

Time to feed the kids, hollers more laters.

Good day CS! Just a quick drop in today!

I’ll have a warm cup of hot chocolate. It’s a cool day for May here in North Carolina, high is in the low 50’s. Rain all day yesterday soaked the yard and the plants and lawn love it too.

Thoughts and prayers go out to all who need them today!

John Wood,
Great photos from the show, thanks for sharing them with us!

Phillip,
Looks like the museum visit was fun! Thanks for the photos!

Ken,
Great job on the water ripples and the KFC conversion!

Hi gang,

It's been a long and boring day here at the office - I didn't get a whole lot done and that always depresses me. Oh well since Fergie's buying I'll go whole-hog: Filet mignon, baked potato w/sour creme, buttered asparagus tips, and strawberry cheescake for dessert. (Oh yeah, mustn't forget the wildcherry Pepsi...)

derJohn , I think you posted your progress pix immediately before I did my most recent submission - looks great, can't wait to see it all painted! Is that a case of Diovan I see at the bottom of the 2nd photo? I could sure use that, the monthly $25 co-pay cuts into my MRR budget...

Thanx alot everybody for the kind feedback on the photos, but I used mostly store-bought stuff so I think you guys can do it too!

Thanx Phillip, now if I could only figure out how to age backwards...[:D] For the KFC conversion I used scraps of Evergreen (much cheaper than Plastruct!) The most challenging part was cutting out 4 isosceles(sp?) triangles (the kind that are the same length on all 3 sides) and having them line up properly for the rooftop pyramid.

Evening All,
Another long day. Picked up a car at Tarrytown from one client, finished aligning a BMW ex Speed Challenge car, ran to Fex Ex to ship a gearcase to old blighty (overnight if you please maam). Did finish a friends 7.5 gage rail drilling fixture so he can get after his trackage. Enough fun time to wander home and sit a spell. Test day tomorrow at Lime Rock Park for the Theodore. Must be getting towards racing season. CUL,[:D] J.R.

Good evening gents, just as J.R. mentioned above, another loooong day. Had to make a Home Depot run for a few things, then yard work, then grand daughters soccer game at 6, so here we are at the PC for the 1st time all day.

TROLLEY ROB Many people have no idea how dangerous it is to set wild animals loose when they no longer can care for them as pets. When we walk about the woodlands here, we do not expect to be attacked by lions, tigers, panthers, etc who are starving after having been set free to roam. They should place 10 year sentences on these idiots, and if a death occurs, throw away the key!!

MATT We watched a show last year, I think it was on the National Geographic channel, that talked about a wild cat like creature that many farmers in England believed was a panther, It was responsible for killing cattle and sheep, and from the sight of the carcasses, it was not any "small" animal.

FERGIE Are there any rail-lines active in New Foundland anymore?

LUC, DER JOHN Here we go again, another big slow moving LOW off the coastline is going to meander around the rest of the week. We have rainy/showery weather due here from tomorrow noontime until next MONDAY before it finally clears. So, a lot of INDOOR project work for the next 6 days ( and trains of course ).

KEN Fantastic job mon ami !!! You are a born artiste' !![^][bow][tup]

A big welcome to DIGITAL GRIFFIN [#welcome] , have abrew on my tab !!

Be back later guys,
Dick If you do what you always did, you'll get what you always got!! Learn from the mistakes of others, trust me........you can't live long enough to make all the mistakes yourself, I tried !! Good Evening Friends:

JAILBREAKER74: Please leave that kind of language outside. I don't believe that I have seen you in here before. Could you let us know alittle more about yourself? Scale, gauge, prototype or freelance? We're just a curious bunch here. By the way pull up a chair and I'll buy you a round.

No MRRing tonight. I did get alittle done on the ore loads. I'm coating them with thinned carpenters glue to seal the foam for when I make the mold off them. Today was spent for the most part patching the Alamo again. White bead styrofoam just does not stand up in the weather. Even when it's got a layer of ether grote or morter mix on it. Of course it dosen't help that the varments are eating in from the back side.

Since Fergie was nice enough to buy me lunch I guess I'll have supper too. I'll have the filet mingion, medium with a baked potato and a salad. Also I'll have the sugar free apple pie and a big dob or the sugar free vinila ice cream. Sorry Fergie I just couldn't resist.

I guess I'll say Good Night and head for the showers.

Not much else to talk about tonight for me. Weather guessers said rain for tomorrow afternoon late. Mother just came in from town and said it's raining now, no wonder my joints ach. Figures are to stiff for pushing buttons, so it's night all.

Good evening Coffee Shoppers: Chloë, I’ll have my JR Regular please, and some of the no-sugar-added cheesecake and blueberry topping. Thanks. Not much mrr today apart from sifting more sawdust while watching some Tv, and trying to re-rig the wrecking crane with blackened single strand electrical wire. It’s thin enough, but doesn’t “run” in the pulleys. So it won’t work, which is a pity because the blackened wire sure looks good wound on the drums in the crane.[sigh]

Attaboy:
QUOTE: Yep I'm one of those folks that say yes or no to people appling for SSA disability.
…I would be interested in your thoughts about the incident mentioned (yesterday I think) where neither of the 2 “doctors” for SSA were actually certified doctors, yet had influence that over-ruled 5 actual doctors. How does that happen?[%-)]

Fergie: Thanks for the CN photo, what is the gauge?

PC: Was that a 44 ton, or a 70? The cowling on the nose didn’t look quite the same as I remember from the 44 ton I had as an HO model.

KenL:

Yup, I saw your water photos as soon as I checked the page, so I edited in my reply![:D]…and yup again, that’s Diovan. My Dr. put me on it from Cozaar, and it’s doing a better job. I guess the rep had just been round as the first 2 months were samples from the Dr., and I’m in a phase 4 study that supplies a free BP meter. I have to turn in a week’s readings early June, and then a year from when I started (early March). The two boxes together make a building about the size I’ll need. That section with the OXO boxes, the Diovan building, a box for the power supply for the BP meter, and a small box of cookies make up a trading estate off the road I just put in. It won’t be served by rail as the tracks there are the interchange, and I don’t think an interchange storage track would also be used for freight service. I would be delighted to be proved wrong about that![:D]

…That’s worth a try as coming up soon to a shore-line near me are the breaking waves on a beach. I’ve got to build the beach yet, but the waves will have to be there. I’m thinking of trying to whip air into WS Flex Paste that I have on hand. I think that if I catch it when it’s drying I can mold it into a breaking wave “tube” and put that into the rest of the sea. Definitely have to work this out off the layout first.
QUOTE: The most challenging part was cutting out 4 isosceles(sp?) triangles (the kind that are the same length on all 3 sides) and having them line up properly for the rooftop pyramid.
…Do you use card templates and cut to fit, then cut the styrene from them?

***: That low pressure may or may not give us showers here. The guess is mostly sunny our way, but rain in SW Nova Scotia. But, as you say, it’s slow and will be around most of the week.

Brian and Art:[#welcome] Please tell us a bit more about your mrr or railfan interests. I see you are from the two ends of our CS clientele’ age range.[8D]

About time I signed off and set the tape recorder to catch Daily Planet at midnight. Goodnight all, and God Bless. Prayers continuing for all those in need of healing, comfort and peace. Wasn’t it great that those two miners were rescued in OZ?[angel]

Hi all! The 4-6-2 didn't come today but I have a hunch it'll come tomorrow.
I took my FP7 apart tonight because it has a tendancy to "lock up" when starting a heavy train. Well, I got it back together and now it won't hardly run at all. I'm thinking of repowering it.

All for now.
