Good Evening All,
Missed this morning running about getting work done. Nice pics - it's good to see the progress being made.
Ding - The wheels work well on most all the cars I've tried to fit them to. If they are too tight and don't spin freely you may need the little chamfer tool from MicroMark to tune them.
all for now 14 hours at work is enough - need to save some for tomorrow. CUL,J.R.

Jeeze- Only 28 pages behind. Haven't the time to get on board.
Couple of questions-
Can someone post here copies of regular photo's if I send them to them?
Anyone interested in photo's of a collection of brass engines ? They will be put up for sale in the future. NO-They are not mine. [wi***hey were] H.O.

Also pictures of an almost 6 ft, long ore carrier and the dock .

Got most the yard mowed and ran out of gas, so couldn’t fini***oday. That parts Ok though; I’d had enough anyhow. I’ll get it done tomorrow, not much left.

Flip , I was staring to wonder where you were, not like you to stay away so long. Wish I could help you with the pics, but I’m not that smart. Hope some one can, I sure would like to see them.

Dats it for now, think I’ll do some reading before bed, still have some of those RR magazines from the flea market I haven’t looked at

Good Evening Gang:

Ding: Good job on the passenger cars. They look right and really like they should have if the CGW had a passenger train.

Holy Smoke: That is one huge gator. Don't bother sending it to me I've got enough trouble with the fake ones I have here.

Ryan: I'll pop over and take alook at your plans.

I've got to go to work tomorrow so I'll say an early Good Night.

GMT, I was more worried about the wheels being too loose. I put Athearn metal wheels in one car and they're a bit loose. I think I'll order those P2K wheelsets and let y'all know how they work.

Mike- When I get the pictures , I'll send you a copy. Been getting home to late to even turn on the puter. My manifest is already here when I get home. I say hello to Deb, wash, eat , look at the manifest, cuss and then figure out how to be at 5 places at the same time . Overtime pay is great when you have the strength and time to use it.

Good evening gents. Just a late nite or is it night [swg] pop in.

Fergie And here we thought that it was you that was causing all that "hot air" turns out it was just the ship LOL. Neat pictures actually. The most exciting CCG ship I get to see regularly is the Griffon or the Simcoe when they swing through the Welland Canal, they seem tiny and insignificant by comparasin compared to your fine ride. [tup]

*** You never onow what some idiot will turn loose into the wild, I remember about ten years ago now, a guy wa fishing in the Niagara River near Niagara on the Lake and he caught a fi***hat bit him. Turned out to be a pet pirrana that someone grew tired off. I imagine that it wouldn't have lived long in the river but what a thing to release into the wild.

Ding The paint job on thoses cars looks great.

Ken Always nice to have small and sometimes humourous vinnettes on the layout. I have a building , it's actually a walther's white tower burger joint that I turned into a donut shop, it will be well attended by police cruisers, taxi cabs and Woodland scenics police figures.

Flip I have a flatbed scanner that I scan most of my 35mm photo's into. if you want I could help you out let me know.

Have a good night gents [zzz]

railroading brit
how are you
i have been able to get some really good prices buy getting my girlfreind to buy them in china and posting them to the uk. the postage is expensive but i think i still save about £50 on the cost of a QJ or an SY. i did find a load of brass models in beijing museum. they were not motorised and i am currently looking for a donor mechanism-hello Branchlines! of perhaps y first run bachmann 37 could get the chop.
as for the russian stock. beijing museum is a great place to start. you can see them side buy side with the chinese stock. it is wonderfull the wway the chinese names for them change depending on their diplomatic cituation with the russians. if you want some pics let me know. if you are going to the museum then i would go quick as although it is almost new it seems to have fallen out of favor with the communist government and it was already looking run down as of 13th april.

inch53
dont worry i have well and truly broken her into this hobby. she seems to quite like my "little trains" and i have even had a couple as presents. she did seem a little put off when we visited a working shed in changzi! i did try and tell her it was going to be dirty but she still wore makeup! but never mind. she liked beijing museum (it was nice and clean!) and she thought the narrow gauge engines were "cute".

now the local elections are over i an not busy at all. infact i dont have another button to press for the next 3 hours (the length of the SP tape i am playing out on air)

Good morning Rob. I still have your address so in a couple weeks , when I see the results of my picture taking, I'll send them .

[#welcome] to all I havent met yet and Hello again to all who remember me.
Well, the surgeon now has told us that when he operated on Deb's neck, he realigned her spine. Now, it seems, in so doing , muscles and tissues are pressing on nerve bundles. New x-rays show extensive arthritis in neck and shoulders. All her dr.'s say-NO WORKING! 3 dr.'s and a professor,[teaches medicine, liver diseases] all state Deb is unable to work at a steady job. Soc.Sec. says she can. If we could afford to, and stand the cold,we would move to Canada.
Enjoy the weekend. All have a drink on my bill. Vito says he knows it wasn't me that got fresh at the party.
Prayers for all. To get better and to stay well.

Mornin all, coffee and the farmers breakfast special Janie.
Sunny but cool here this mornin and looking for a high in the 60's. Busy day here, getting a hair cut and yard saleing, then coming home and finish mowing and getting the camping stuff out. We've got a fish frie, domino's and camping on for tonight with some friends.

Flip , I feel for your wife, i know all bout the problems that come arthritis in the neck and back. and we know bout trying to live on one income, when it's just not enough.
When I file for my disability in 97, it took 3 years and a lawyer to get it, even though 5 doctors, MRI scans and x-rays said I couldn’t work and 2 SS doc’s said I could. One of their docs wasn’t a doc yet, still an intern and the other turned out to be a nurse practitioner, never even seen a real doctor. Once I got the lawyer I had a check in hand in 5 months. Best of luck to you n yours, we keep you in our thoughts

Hope every one has a good day, prayers for all in need.
Now i need to go get Mother up and start her moving round, so I’ll be in trouble right off the bat for not letting her sleep in.

Good Morning All

Well it's another Large Day here in St John's!

Made it to the Railway Museum

Great little spot and well worth the $5 admission. It has also allowed me to establish a pay skill for those working on the MESS.

I'll be taking applications next week, those interested may apply within. Please note policy regarding the purchasing of tools[:D]

Der John : You were asking about the Bubbler system the other day and what I was told was this is a low pressure system but high volume as we want the air in the water alongside the hull. The system is driven by two large pumps which are driven by two 500 HP motors.

Anyway That's it for me today

Later All

Mornin' All!

inch,

Do you realize that I now base my schedule off of your weather reports? They're more accurate then the ones I seem to get. Sunny and 60's,....I'm good with that!

Fergie,

Those boys didn't get to keep much of their money after the tool deal, did they? Seems pretty much like working for the sake of working, ya know? Working 5 days to keep 2 days pay had to get frustrating after a while!

Hi Gang: I may drop in a couple times to day. This high speed connection at work is great.

Fergie: If you are going to use that as a pay scale for the gang on the M.E.S.S. you may be in for some labor trouble. I think that the high ups at this outfit have been looking at that to.

Flip: Ah the joys of dealing with the system. It's a shame that they seem to think that you are after there own money, and not asking for what is due you.

Well I'm going to head out and see what is going on.

Darn it. Went to my LHS to p/u LL 2000 GP-38 in B-M and forgot to gring my camera.
My memory is gone. I'll go tomorrow and get the pictures of the ore carrier and dock. Jon says the dock is N-L-A. This one is 2 kits joined together.
Weather here is to darn hot. We need RAIN. Fires are springing up and closing major hiways, I-95 for one, and with fog in a.m. causing multiple crashes. Idiots drive to bleeping fast. One guy said- I could barely see anything till I hit the dump truck. DUH!
Wonder how fast he was going?

Mike we had a lawyer for over 6 months and have an appointment with S.S. ffor another meeting and now have more ammo to shoot them with. We shall see.
Thanks to all for your prayers and your E's.
And a big thanks for all the pictures posted. Love studying them.

Good Afternoon All,
Spent the day at work instead of the museum like I wanted but got lots done without the constant phonecalls and interuptions (This car is on fire - ok put it out. Now the floor is wet - ok mop it up -- ad infinitum) much nicer to crank up the tunes and just work.[{(-_-)}]
Hope everyone had a useful day and I'll try to check in later. Flip remember the gov't is here to help (itself to your money).CUL[:D] J.R.

Afternoon all, barley pop please Janie, it’s bout time for the fish fry,
Well the day didn’t go as planned, right off the bat. Went out and the bus wouldn’t start, been having some trouble with it and was going to put plugs in this weekend. Called #1 son, he came out and it took almost two hours for that job, bus still won’t start. So he goes and gets a fuel pump gauge, and finds no pressure.
The pump is 8 months old; parts store will cover it on warranty, but can’t get it before Tuesday. We’ve got Pat’s truck now, but have to find some thing else for a couple days to drive.
Catch up on all the post tomorrow, since we need to finish making camp, prayers for all

Sorry about the last story, aweek ago. here's a good joke for ya and its clean.
Su Wong marries Lee Wong. The next year, the Wong's have a baby. The nurse brings over a lovely, healthy, bouncy, but definitely Caucasian, white baby boy.
Congratulations, says the nurse to the new parents.
Well Mr. Wong, what will you and Mrs Wong name the baby?"
The puzzled father looks at his new baby boy and says, "well, two Wong's don't make a white, so I think we will name him Sum Ting Wong".

Good evening everyone, a long day outside today doing the usual, garden and yard work, and then help son #2 over the hill plant some trees and bushes. Then we went to Spagetti and meatball & sausage supper for firemans fund, really good too, those fireman can cook.

COX47 That was what I was planning to use to paint the tracks also ( rattle cans as you call them ). Do you have much touch-up painting to do after you lay the tracks?

TROLLEY ROB Can you just imagine some kids swimming in a lake and being attacked by Pirahna? Some people just aren't the sharpest tools in the tool shed.

FERGIE That sounds like a real nice train museum and well worth your time. As for ship, you have some serious power onboard your ship!! Two 500hp motors just to pump the water for the ice breaking, and that doesn't include ships main power!

FLIP Is it my imagination or is it getting worse each year in Florida with dry spells?

Time for a cold one, talk later guys,

Good Evening Gang: It's 6pm and I'm ready for bed. I must be getting old or something. mary Ann said she's ready also.

Flip: Are you going to post those pictures of the ore boat and dock? If not I'll send you my E-mail address so you could E them to me. You know me and iron ore. I start to drewl at the mention of the words.

swdave: Appologie accepted. Now you can start appolgising for that joke. Two Wongs don't make a white. Oh boy. I think I'll take that one to work and spread it around.

We've been having some real bad storms the last week or so. They have caused some damage but no serious injureys so far. On the up side they have brought much needed rain. I've been able to burn some brush and the dead weeds and grass on the 7.5in gauge. I'm working on some loads for the ore cars. I'm making several for the Walthers and MDC cars. I'll use these for patterns for molds and than I can mold as many as I need. Much easer than making them all by hand. I found a piece of pink foam at the park and am using it for the ore load patterns.

I think I'll say Good Night and head for bed.

Not a good weekend for MRR.... This morning our BLI Hudson took a nose dive off the table.[:O][:(][*^_^*] The pilot and front coupler are toast. [banghead] I am hoping beyond all hope that I can get the parts from BLI.

Then we got these Walthers cushion coil cars as a gift. Might as well been a scratchbuild with all the work involved. [:(!] Anyway, I needed to use a #80 bit to install parts. So far I have broken 3 bits. At $1.35 a bit, this gift is getting very expensive.[|(]
