Tequila Christmas CakeIngredients: 1 cup of water 1 tsp baking soda 1 cup of sugar1 tsp salt1 cup of brown sugarLemon juice4 large eggsNuts1 bottle tequila 2 cups of dried fruit Sample the tequila to check quality. Take a large bowl, check thetequila again. To be sure it is of the highest quality, pour one level cup and drink. Repeat. Turn on the electric mixer. Beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl. Add one teaspoon of sugar. Beat again. At this point it's best to make sure the tequila is still OK. Try another cup... just in case. Turn off the mixerer thingy . Break 2 leggs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit. Pick the frigging fruit up off floor. Mix on the turner. If the fried druit gets stuck in the beaterers just pry it loose with a drewscriver. Sample the tequila to check for tonsisticity. Next, sift two cups of salt.Or something. Check the tequila. Now shift the lemon juice and strain your nuts. Add one table. Add a spoon of sugar, or somefink. Whatever you can find. Greash the oven. Turn the cake tin 360 degrees and try not to fall over. Don't forget to beat off the turner. Finally, throw the bowl through the window. Finish the tequila and wipe counter with the cat. CHERRY MISTMAS!

LUC: No need to be biased Luc, she is a doll for sure !!!! Have you bought her Thomas the Train set yet ??? Well........what are waiting for Great Grampa??
JEFF: It is 17.7F here now at 11:30pm, with a Dew Point of 15F, so the temp could get down that low tonight here in central New England. So that would be a one dog night. Has to reach below 10F to be a two dog night, and below -10F to be a three dog night. But that is for us above 72 degrees N Lat. I would imagine that 22F in Louisianna is a 2 dog night right?
Just droped in for a cup of coffee ....Luc ..Thanks for the photo She looks like a little Angel!......Its almost bed time you all have a good night.....Jerry
This was sent to me from a friend. I thought I would share it with you here.
Am I A Fireman Yet??
In Phoenix ,Arizona , a 26-year-old mother stared down at her 6 year old son, who was dying of terminal leukemia. Although her heart was filled with sadness, she also had a strong feeling of determination. Like any parent, she wanted her son to grow up & fulfill all his dreams. Now that was no longer possible. The leukemia would see to that. But she still wanted her son's dream to come true. She took her son's hand and asked, "Billy, did you ever think about what you wanted to be once you grew up? Did you ever dream and wish what you would do withyour life?" Mommy, "I always wanted to be a fireman when I grew up." Mom smiled back and said, "Let's see if we can make your wish come true." Later that day she went to her local firedepartment in Phoenix, Arizona , where she met Fireman Bob, who had a heart as big as Phoenix. She explained her son's final wish and asked if it might be possible to give her 6 year old son a ride around the block on a fire engine. Fireman Bob said, "Look, we can do better than that. If you'll have your son ready at seven o'clock Wednesday morning, we'll make him an honoraryFireman for the whole day. We can come down to the fire station, eat with us, go out on all the fire calls, the whole nine yards! And if you'll give us his sizes, we'll get a real fire uniform for him, with a real fire hat - not a toy -- One-with the emblem of the Phoenix Fire Department on it, a yellow slicker like we wear and rubber boots. They're all manufactured right here in Phoenix , so we can get them fast."
Three days later Fireman Bob picked up Billy, dressed him in his uniform and escorted him from his hospital bed to the waitinghook and ladder truck.
Billy got to sit on the back of the truck and help steer it back to the fire station. He was in heaven. There were three fire calls in Phoenix that day and Billy got to go out on all three calls. He rode in the different fire engines, the Paramedic's van, and even the fire chief's car. He was also videotaped for the local news program. Having his dream come true, with all the Love and attention that was lavished upon him, so deeply touched Billy, that he lived three months longer than any doctor thought possible. One night all of his vital signs began to drop dramatically and the head nurse, who believed in the hospice concept - that no one should die alone, began to call the familymembers to the hospital.
Then she remembered the day Billy had spent as a Fireman, so she called the Fire Chief and asked if it would be possible to send a fireman in uniform to the hospital to be with Billy as he made his transition. The chief replied, "We can do better than that. We'll be there in five minutes. Will you please do me a favor? When you hear the sirens screaming and see the lights flashing, will you announce over the PA system, that there is not a fire? It's the department coming to see one of its finest members one more time. And will you open the window to his room? About five minutes later a hook and ladder truck arrived at the hospital and extended its ladder up to Billy's third floor open window--------16 fire-fighters climbed up the ladder into Billy's room. With his mother's permission, they hugged him and held him and told him how much they LOVED him. With his dying breath, Billy looked up at the fire chief and said, "Chief, am I really a fireman now?" "Billy, you are, and the Head Chief, Jesus, is holding your hand," the chief said. With those words, Billy smiled and said, "I know, He's been holding my hand all day, and the angels have been singing.. "He closed his eyes one last time.

Luc - you are so right. What a beautiful baby!
Paul - I can sympathise. When the CFO and I were walking all over Arizona last week, I don't think we were able to stay awake past 8pm. Normally I can stay up longer than that even working crazy hours. J.R.

I wish to introduce to you Haley Elaine Comeau, our 1st great grand-daughter.
I may be biaised but I think she is beautiful.
Happy MRRing
Evenin' Chloe - I'll have a cheeseburger and fries, with a Pepper over ice, please!
Hey, Attaboy, welcome to the fast lane (hopefully - I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, too)! You will definitely appreciate the difference, I'm sure.
Luc, how're those pics of great-granddaughter Haley coming along? Don't take too long, or she'll be graduating from high school...
Sorry I missed the layout on CSI - if it would've been in the previews I might have watched it. I've been cutting back some on watching CSI (decided I don't need to watch all the gore, etc. - heck, there's enough on other shows or even on the news nowadays. )
I got in my D&RGW boxcars today (at work), but found out (should've asked, so mostly my fault) they're too modern for my layout's period (late 1950's). So I'll see if one of the guys in the MRR club wants to buy them (they model more modern times). Dagnabity!
Well, going to see about some layout work, so I'll get off here for now. Everyone stay warm (well, I know our Polar Bear Club members in here will be dodging the ice for their evening swim...
Blessings,

Might want to consider running Adaware and Spybot... they're usually pretty good at getting rid of a lot of the junk that computers can pick up

I had quite a day working with my ISP. I have been having a problem sending mail off and on over the past several days. The SMTP server at my ISP's site was rejecting the incoming mail. They tried to blame MS, but the problem was elsewhere once again !!! Everything is working once again.

LUC: I hear you have some pictures of your new Great Grandaughter!!! Lets see them!!!
Have to go, see you guys later,
Evening all, how is everyone doing this evening. Or afternoon or morning, whatever it is whereever you are.
Luc, congrats on becoming a GGF. I'm not even a grandfather yet...that I know of. With two twenty something daughters, I can't be sure.

Not much happening train wise lately, getting ready for Christmas. I'm now the official permanent host of our extended family get together for the holiday since my mother downsized to a mobile home. We're spread out a bit and I'm fairly centrally located, makes it a little easier for everyone. Except me that is.
If all goes well I will finally be joining the ranks of broadband users on 22 December. They hooked me up to the new cable system on Wednesday and I have an appt that morning to have the cable in my house upgraded for internet service. By that afternoon I should be cruising along at up to 7 Mbs. With my luck we'll probably get a blizzard the night before and it won't get done. I'm keeping my fingers crossed until then.
Well, gotta get comfortable using my DVD burner to back up files. My old 3.5" floppy gave up the ghost this evening. I'm not even going to bother replacing it since they are pretty much obsolete now. I just have to get more comfortable with the DVD burner. See you all later.

Evening Gang:
Mary Ann and I had a very busy day. We got alot done and are feeling it now. She's in bed And I'm not too far away.
This morning we hooked up the cattle trailer, loaded 3 calves up and headed to the sale barn. It's a 45 mile drive and we did it in about 1 hour. The calves sold for a real good price,$1.24, $1.28, and $1.08 per pound. The low price was for the heavest one. After that we headed west to what was the town of Thurber Tex. It was a coal mining town until the mines closed in 1930s. There is a resturant ther called the New York Hill. Lunch was very good. We headed home by way of the bank to deposit the check. We then tagged some calves and I checked a calf that has been limping around for that last couple of days. His hoof on the right rear leg is split. There was nothing that I could do so Mary Ann will call the vet tomorrow and see if there is anything that can be done. After that we put out hay and had supper and headed to bed. Here it's only 6:37 pm and I'm going to bed. Tomorrow is a work day and that will be one less on the way to retirement. I'll stop in tomorrow morning from work.
Good Night All.
Hey alllearned alot today. It was interesting learning how to off load propane from a rail car. we are set up to do up to 5 at a time.
Got more trains in today but was kinda disapointed Need to know if it was listed on ebay as gondola w/o box would you not think with original box? I know it could go either (trying to be fair ) but normally in O gauge listings they say no box or ob .
Oh well still for most part got a good deal either way emailed seller and told them (very politely) my thoughts but also told them was leaving a very nice positive feed back which I did ( Excelant item just as described ) as the items were close to new looking. So still feel got good deal

Christmas came early for me with the announcment of a couple of impending NH I-5's to be built next year. The plastic one I can swing if I start saving now. $1700 for brass is right out of the question. CUL, J.R.
WOW, 3:00pm! Guess we're on our own for lunch!
Guess I'll keep it light since dinner's coming soon. Shrimp sounds good! Anyone care to join me?
OK Hoople,
I know it's not lunch time in Washington yet, but over here on Eastern time we're getting hungry, and since your on top.............
What's for lunch?
It was 24F and snowing this morning when I left for work. My car engine was not a happy to turn over. (Nothing worse then hearing valve stick chatter on startup)
Jeffrey & Philip how about writing some higher numbers on those weather maps of yours?
Looks like I won't get to do any modeling this weekend. I have two holiday parties, a tree to put up, a house to clean and shopping to do. :-(

JAMES, We had Henry's funeral yesterday, know you are glad that is behind you now. Glad to hear about the honors presented to his wife. pity he wasn't there to recieve them himself. Now is the healing process for family and friends. We will keep you all in our prayers.
We had Henry's funeral yesterday,
Great photos of the steam train.
LEE, this is the origional Cargill mine on Avery Island, about 35 miles from Lafayette. Avery Island is the home of Tobasico Sauce. This salt dome is the largest in the world. It is as deep as Mt. Everest is high. They were mining salt here before the Civil War. Thought you might like some salty history.LOL

Good morning, all, and a to Haley (and congrats to Great-Grandpa Luc)! Zoe, please hide me a piece of that birthday cake (you know, in that spot that the chowhounds don't know about...). Cake for breakfast doesn't quite do it for me, but I'd like a slice later in the day. Thanks!
Dan, t'wasn't me bidding on that loco - I've only bid on some boxcars, a structure or two and one diesel (which I didn't win). Sounds like you got some bargains there.
Well, got to get ready for work - but it's casual Friday (YAY!!)! Weekend's about here.
Middlin' cold today - about 11, but at least we're not getting any snow (just yet).
Jim in Cape Girardeau
