QUOTE: Question:Is there a way that I can attach a power supply that would match the voltage and amps for this device? It is powered by 2 AA batteries.
Silver Spike if you goto you local radio shack and tell them you need a 3Volt adaptor bet they can come up with one then cut the end off and solder it to the ends on it and plug it in and your in business first try it with electric tape as sometimes it matters which wire goes where so it don't run backwards.

Howdy y'all. Dern I missed Page 1000, but at least I get to post on Page 1001. If you write 1001 backwards, it's still 1001, so Page 1001 is better than 1000 anyways, so there.[:D]

Wow, 1000 pages of the Coffee Shop...That's nuts. Who's ready for another 1000 more? Does that mean that the CS gets a yellow star now?[:D]

CONGRATS JOHN! You must be a psycho...Err...I mean...A psychic.[;)][:p][:D]

Inch: Glad to hear there is a rink around someone else in the CS.[:p] Great pictures by the way.[tup]

Trolley Rob: I used to ice skate, but I grew out of my skates and didn't bother getting another pair. I'm all for the wheels.[:D] The closest ice rink to me is almost an hour away.

Matt: Are you into star gazing? I used to do that all the time with my older brother with his telescope. It was always fun. But overtime, the telescope broke (I forgot how...), so that didn't continue. Although, I still love just staring up at the sky, looking at the stars and the large abyss that hangs above us. I may have to go look up the WWII Enigma codes, thanks. [tup][8D] And the tram is looking good.[^]

Greg: Nice truck![tup] One problem, it ain't a Ford.[;)] Dodge is cool, but I'm a Ford kind of guy. I'll be driving my Marquis for Prom this year. It looks like a mini-limo anyways. I just need to replace a side marker light, and I'll be set.[8D]

Peace y'all, I'm out.

Evenin' all! Thanks for the congrats. ***, I guess a year's free drinks would be water?[(-D]

I went out, and came in through the front door, (instead of the storm cellar route I usually take) I was curious about the 20000 replies proximity. The counter read 19968. The page counter was reading 999, and here we are on 1001, so I don't know if the 20K replies has been reached, or if this makes it 19969. My guess would be 19969 because the last poster was Duke, and that's the last post here.
Ah! I see Mike has been in since, while I was watching the keyboard!
Thanks for the update on RT, I've edited out my question about him.[tup]
Sorry to hear about your heart, that's scary. We'll be praying too.[angel]

EVENING ALL,

Just a quicky, still need to get caught back up some.

1'st off, J Birds and doing great.

2'nd , Don't know if RT , been in or not. But, he did call here last night and said he was OK, and they were going to keep him over night. Sorry bout not posting that sooner, but that's #3 of the list

I've Been in the hospital for the last 24 hours. Started with breathing problems [ Have infazima] ; They gave me a treatment, then i couldn't quit coughing. Which started messing with my heart, so they kept me. Now i guess they think I had mild heart attack during that time.. Got a bunch of test and such for next week.

Funny part is, I never had heart problems till then

Congrads John on the 1000, enjoy the moment

I try an get back in laters

Dave:
QUOTE: Well who is going to be the lucky one today.
Congratulations on getting to post first on the 1K page! [bow]… and thanks for the tea![(-D] Coo, looks like I won Luc’s poll![:O] I don’t usually win stuff. I put the date in as a long shot, it’s our daughter’s birthday today[bday] As Kris says, it’s my 15 seconds of fame![:D]

Ryan:
QUOTE: This morning a crazy driver almost ran me off the road,
On our drive home from town last Thursday we were “come at” by three separate transport trucks on curves. They were way over the double lines each time, and Kris almost had to take the shoulder for the last one.[V] But, if you really want to twitch her wires. Pull out just in front of her, go a few hundred yards, and turn off. [:O]

To take a stab at your 2AA batteries question, that’s 3 volts. I’d have a look for one of those little transformers that power games and such (they breed in garage sale boxes usually), find a 3 volt one, and try it. Most of the power needs of that sort of device are about the same, so I wouldn’t worry too much about overloading the amperage. Check the label on the humidity thingy. If it’s a very low amperage device, way lower than the 3 volt transformer is rated for, then may be be cautious. [X-)] ***’s solution is way more elegant, and doesn’t take any house power.[tup]
QUOTE: Jerry, Well now, I had not considered a goat!

The municipality of Fort Saskatchewan, north of Edmonton, Alberta was using sheep to mow the highway intersections in the 90s. Don’t know if they still do, but it works.[^]
By the way here’s a shot of the 82nd Avenue yard in Edmonton that my Nscale friend there took from his 20th storey condo, and sent me today.
QUOTE: BTW, what is RDC’s?
I hope I’m right on this, but I’ve been using it as Rail Diesel Cars.
On the south faces the road issue, if you really want to save money, go for the solar panels, and be an environmental leader in the community! People will see them for sure, but they will be the ones paying the higher bills.[(-D][2c]

Luc has just sent this. I thought that the many firefighter mrrs in here might appreciate it.

Jerry, sorry to hear about Sallie’s mom. You guys are going through a pretty rough patch right now. Yes, we are praying. Our friend and neighbour Gladys has just been diagnosed (about 2 years later than it should have been) with bone marrow and lymph gland cancer. She’s started chemo this week, and we are waiting to see what happens next. Please pray for her too.[angel]

Must go check some websites.

SilverSpike: It'd be kinda southern engineered, but assuming the batteries are in series, that adds up to 3V. You could take the wires that it has, and try to find a 3V power supply somewhere, hook the positive to the positve, and negative to negative, and be good to go. There wouldn't be any battery backup though, it'd take a fancy circuit to rig that up. If you can't find a 3V supply anywhere, go to O'Reilly's and get a 12-6V converter and hook it up inline on a 6V power pack (they're easier to come by). Otherwise--get LiIon batteries. Lithium Ion's have a whole lot more power than alkalines, and will last about 10x as long. Downside-they're expensive, but cheaper than 10 sets of alkalines.

Congrats DerJohn!

Good luck,
Greg
