Good morning gang,

Just the usual for me today Clhoe... I'm so annoyed, I had a chance to get something on Fergie's tab yesterday and I missed it![banghead]

No MRR news to report today, I spent my afternoon off yesterday tilling Vicky's garden (15'x20'), had to make 4-5 passes over it. Got a mild case of sunburn in the process. I'll probably add to WS Water Effects gel to my river when I get a chance, since it looks a bit too mirror-smooth to be believable at the moment.

Some of you were wondering why I go to the Atlas forum? Well, when several days go by and hardly anybody visits my 'home' forum (MRF) I get desperate. Fergie I sorta suspected what you observed about them, but I thought maybe I was being paranoid - now, I suppose I wasn't! I do have one or two friends over there though, but I haven't seen them lately...

Scott - be careful man, those e-games are highly addictive - that's why I dropped TrainZ like a hot potato when I first got into it, it kept me from accomplishing any physical modeling![swg]

Greg - that's totally scary about those tornadoes[:O]. And they're becoming commonplace even in my own state...

I'll have 4 pancakes with 3 sausage patties, 3 eggs over med, 4 slices of toast, order of hashbrowns and a large Coke, and a big cinnamon bun to start.

Man I look back at that and can't believe I use to eat that much when I went home to PA. for breakfast at a dinner up there and no I don't want all that chole you know my breakfast now is just 1 banna . few sliced strawberries , 1/2 cup of 2% milk and 1 cup of cherrios. Thank - You

Cox- yup it's a GP30. I've got 2 of 'em. I haven't done a caboose yet,, but I need to.[:)] I love the 6+ F unit lashups myself. Currently my only F unit is a FP7, but I'm getting a Stewart F3 AB set for my birthday (which happens to be less than 2 weeks away[:D]).

tonight I started painting a passenger car for CGW.. ought to have it done for WPF.

Good evening gents, just stopped by for a nightcap.....just me and Trainwreck in the CS sitting here talking trains over a coffee.

DER JOHN I had asked the question a week ago on the forum re aging the tracks 1st, but many people said that it was a pain to scrape the paint away where you had to solder leads. I felt the same as you do about all the overspray onto the ballast if done AFTER you install the rails. Also, I was thinking that all I had to do was tape off a small section on each section of track where I would solder the power leads later, no big deal to do that. Others said that the paint would crack after you mounted the track when bending the flex track. Well, how bad could that be to touch that up a little with a brush if need be? I still think I am going to take all my 3 foot sections of flex track outside some nice suny day, and age them all in the fresh air...no fumes in the house. I can touch up any areas that need it afterwards, and I will tape a section ( or apply a little oil) to the location where I will solder. That is my plan and I'm stickin to it !!!

FERGIE Hey big guy, I didn't know you had the flu? Aren't you drinking Ed' s OJ daily? And "gun ports" being cut on the ship? Are you expecting a war with the polar bears.? LOL Or, are you going to lob a few at the Atlas forum guys to stir the pot?

Hi guys, I know that was a really short post last time, but my brother in law was standing over my shoulder and I just couldn't stand it any more so I had to get up. (hate it when he does that)

Scott: Sweeet, I've been seriously considering the glowing fuzzy dice for mine, but don't want that wire hanging down to the cigarette lighter. I know I could hard-wire it, but I don't wanna do that right now ( I just got through putting in red lights underneath my dash, and a place to wire in red rope lights on the running boards) I'd better run, looks like you noticed I'd been to the store, don't get me with the Windex!!!

They had 85-100 mph winds in my prom date's home town tonight, guess I'll see how her family came out tomorrow in class.

Speaking of some big storms, here's the ones about 15 miles away the other day. The first one's taken from the compound at the Federal Prison in El Reno. The second is a different tornado in El Reno the same day, the county deputies were watching 3 at one time, one took out two hangars at the municipal airport.

I know you're wondering, but the inmates are all safe in their cells, five years ago the tornado actually hit the units, and the inmates could see mud puddles and plants being sucked into it looking out their windows.


Cheese: it's usually the other way around here, El Reno's a paid department, but Calumet VFD has to go sit in their station pretty often it seems like. Congrats on your completion of your ff1, that's quite an accomplishment. Get EMS in there and you'll be able to do about anything you want to.

The ballast worked out pretty well, and I took the opportunity to paint the rails as well. It sure makes the code 80 disappear. I’m sort of glad I didn’t go for code 55, I don’t think it would have been worth the money. Is there a consensus on painting before or after ballasting? Seems to me that the paint over-sprays too much on the ballast if done after. Done before, would there be enough “rust” on the ballast between the rails?
I scraped the rail heads clean after painting, but I know I’ve more to do, as a test loco didn’t run smoothly, if at all, on the seemingly gleaming track.[banghead] Here’s the lead into the Timesaver section. I can’t find the original in “My Pictures” any more, so I’m glad it’s in Photobucket.[%-)]

Well I made it to the LHS today and picked up some badly needed supplies. Also got an unpainted Round House Caboose that will eventually get MESS'd up.

The Shipyard started cutting the gun ports in the hull today and if I get a chance I'll post some pics tomorrow.

Well I'm slowly getting over the flu bug so I'm off to bed as 5:30 comes early I also got a 17 Km ride in this evening so that's that. Ohg my aching joints!

RT: Talk tyo your Doc before you walk! Any program has to be started slowly and gradually as not to shock the body. If you can do it in small steps it will do you a world of good but it will take time. And if you want to drop 5lbs in two days let me know and I'll send you down this flu bug!

That's my picture on there, once again. It's been a while since I've had one up, but they've been busy redesigning the site so I hadn't bothered to submit a shot lately until they got thing running again. It's nice to have another one up there.

I've been working on the module a little again, as I've gotten back in the mood. I plan on setting the thing up fully this week and getting a few shots of it. It's starting to look pretty good. I had a few complements at the show even, and not just from people I know......

Well all its been a good and a bad day still in all I'm fine I guess did get a little light headed again today but just for a couple of minutes this time.

well all have a good eveing plan to have a flea market sale this weekend there talking rain on saturday so may have to go sunday . Sunday is normally a better day anyway but you get 2 tables for the price of one on saturday as it is a slower day there for some reason.

I got to run the 7.5 for a few minutes tonight. Actually I wanted to dry the locomotive out some. I didn't cover it with the tarp last night and today about 8am came a real good rain. Since I was at work I couldn't do anything about it. So a little run up the hill and some switching and it was dry enough to cover with the tarp. There is more rain on for tonight. Moral of all this is get the engine house and turntable in.

I think that I'll sign off and read the paper. Well the comics, OK?

Heh heh heh, I'm sneaking in through the back door today.

And a rousing welcome from Bose in glorious Hagerstown, Maryland. I thought that I would stop in for a quick sit before I get to cleaning the place.

I'm so close to getting a new stereo for my car. I am going to a shop to get the head unit in tomorrow afterschool. I'll ask them if they could also install my AIRHORNS as well, but that'll have to wait for a later date. As long as I have everything ready by the 27th (PROM), I'll be good to go.[:D]

swdave - sorry to hear about your...er...issue, but that kind of talk just doesn't belong here. My 7- and 10yr-old daughters sometimes look over my shoulder when I'm typing messages here, and I don't want them to see it![:O]

Looks like this place has really been dead, only about 4 pages added from last time I looked in. Whats up with that . I got my Doc to let me try that new ceblex to help get it up. When you see the ads on tv they tell at the end of a few warnings, like if you have a woody for more then four hours seek medcial help right away, well I went be on that time, how about 4 days worth. I must say I was one very embassed man. It was fun to watch the nurses trying with all their might to keep a staight face.
Lets just say the wife is walking a little bull legged this week, she was a real trooper.
The bad part comes when the doc reminds you that a hardon happens when the blood rushs into the *** making it swell up, so the fix means removing the pressure , how do they do that you say about a 4 inch needle into the main vein that runs under the ***. Now its time to slowly start to pump out the blood and putting a clamp at the very base so that new blood can its place. I have decided to stick to playing with trains from now on. Its good to be back.

Good afternoon everyone, we had quite a day yesterday and all last night as well!! As you know, Massachusetts has been very dry since January, and particularly this Spring. There have been many small brush fires in our town of late, and three in one area, of which the fire dept knows they are being set intentionally. Well yesterday the same area of isolated woodlands went up again, and this time with a 30-40 mph wind, it burned over 130 acres and took an old mansion at the top of the hill in that area. This old mansion was three floors, with a great view of the city and surrounding countryside, overlooking the former Boston & Albany RR main line, now CSX. It was very isolated with a long uphill winding driveway over 1500 feet. The 3rd floor had a huge model train layout. The trains had been removed by the original owners, but the layout, tracks etc were still there I am told, and the mansion was abandoned over the past three years, and had been vandalized.
My youngest son is a volunteer firefighter, and went right to the scene after work and was there all night in the woods ( sleeping now though). There were over 30 towns sending in fire equipment to fight this huge fire, including the nearby city of Worcester. Now as if this wasn't enough, a three decker in the city of Worcester caught fire, and with the high winds, and closeness of the houses, 3 more houses caught fire. So, Worcester had to call their units back from the gig fire in Leicester ( my town ) and Auburn, to help fight the 4 alarm there.
There were fire trucks in every driveway of the homes in the area of the forest fire, and the State Police used two of their helicopters with 3000 gallon buckets, to haul water for dumps on the fire in the hilly remote areas. The fire was on both sides of the CSX tracks, so they had to pass at slow speed due to all the firefighters and equipment in the area.
Today, the rains came, not too much yet, only 0.36", but enough to get the fires under control. I wish I had seen the train layout, what an absolute shame. From what I was told, it took up most of the entire 3rd floor.

But it does make track look like it goes thru the backdrop..Now I got get myself motavated to start on the coal mine..All those hoppers don't make much sense without a mine...

hope all are doiing fine . acually had another set back yesterday even thou didn't mention it last night I had a light headedness for about 45 minutes and I felt my heart fluter a couple of times so I'm going to go see the doc tomorrow about 2:45 (glad wasn't dieing soonest could see me lol)

anyway didn't goto work today and won't tomorrow either as want to see dock first and then I have 1 + hour drive homew so 2 more days no pay. Oh well guess I really need to look into something not so physical I guess. And beside whats going to happen when my boss goes he's not that young anymore I keep getting told by my wife . He's 7 years shy of double my age lol. (he's 95)

and I'm to young to really be having these problems but I'am so I need to start doing something to get me back into shape I should be at 51.
