Not much else to talk about tonight for me. Weather guessers said rain for tomorrow afternoon late. Mother just came in from town and said it's raining now, no wonder my joints ach. Figures are to stiff for pushing buttons, so it's night all.

No MRRing tonight. I did get alittle done on the ore loads. I'm coating them with thinned carpenters glue to seal the foam for when I make the mold off them. Today was spent for the most part patching the Alamo again. White bead styrofoam just does not stand up in the weather. Even when it's got a layer of ether grote or morter mix on it. Of course it dosen't help that the varments are eating in from the back side.

Since Fergie was nice enough to buy me lunch I guess I'll have supper too. I'll have the filet mingion, medium with a baked potato and a salad. Also I'll have the sugar free apple pie and a big dob or the sugar free vinila ice cream. Sorry Fergie I just couldn't resist.

I guess I'll say Good Night and head for the showers.

Good evening gents, just as J.R. mentioned above, another loooong day. Had to make a Home Depot run for a few things, then yard work, then grand daughters soccer game at 6, so here we are at the PC for the 1st time all day.

TROLLEY ROB Many people have no idea how dangerous it is to set wild animals loose when they no longer can care for them as pets. When we walk about the woodlands here, we do not expect to be attacked by lions, tigers, panthers, etc who are starving after having been set free to roam. They should place 10 year sentences on these idiots, and if a death occurs, throw away the key!!

MATT We watched a show last year, I think it was on the National Geographic channel, that talked about a wild cat like creature that many farmers in England believed was a panther, It was responsible for killing cattle and sheep, and from the sight of the carcasses, it was not any "small" animal.

FERGIE Are there any rail-lines active in New Foundland anymore?

LUC, DER JOHN Here we go again, another big slow moving LOW off the coastline is going to meander around the rest of the week. We have rainy/showery weather due here from tomorrow noontime until next MONDAY before it finally clears. So, a lot of INDOOR project work for the next 6 days ( and trains of course ).

Another long day. Picked up a car at Tarrytown from one client, finished aligning a BMW ex Speed Challenge car, ran to Fex Ex to ship a gearcase to old blighty (overnight if you please maam). Did finish a friends 7.5 gage rail drilling fixture so he can get after his trackage. Enough fun time to wander home and sit a spell. Test day tomorrow at Lime Rock Park for the Theodore. It's been a long and boring day here at the office - I didn't get a whole lot done and that always depresses me. Oh well since Fergie's buying I'll go whole-hog: Filet mignon, baked potato w/sour creme, buttered asparagus tips, and strawberry cheescake for dessert. (Oh yeah, mustn't forget the wildcherry Pepsi...)

derJohn , I think you posted your progress pix immediately before I did my most recent submission - looks great, can't wait to see it all painted! Is that a case of Diovan I see at the bottom of the 2nd photo? I could sure use that, the monthly $25 co-pay cuts into my MRR budget...

Thanx alot everybody for the kind feedback on the photos, but I used mostly store-bought stuff so I think you guys can do it too!

Thanx Phillip, now if I could only figure out how to age backwards...[:D] For the KFC conversion I used scraps of Evergreen (much cheaper than Plastruct!) The most challenging part was cutting out 4 isosceles(sp?) triangles (the kind that are the same length on all 3 sides) and having them line up properly for the rooftop pyramid.

I used Woodland Scenics Water Effects paste on top of their "Realistic Water" - spread the Water Effects paste on like peanut butter after the Realistic Water solidified. But first, I experimented on a scrap piece of clear styrene.

Good day CS! Just a quick drop in today!

I’ll have a warm cup of hot chocolate. It’s a cool day for May here in North Carolina, high is in the low 50’s. Rain all day yesterday soaked the yard and the plants and lawn love it too.

Thoughts and prayers go out to all who need them today!

How about saying yes to my wife. She and both of my children have Muscular Dystrophy and have been waiting over a year for an approval. Can't seem to get one. I don't know why either. Heck, the Muscular Dystrophy Association used my son as their poster child last year!

FYI, I went to a neighborhood reunion with my mother on Saturday at a Hoss's Steak House. They had old advertising signs on the walls for decorating, some original, some copies, from the 40s and 50s. Guess where I'm going for dinner some weekend with a digital camera. May be able to make some signs for my pike on the computer.

Hi all

Not much happening here, mostly revising (have two exams left, then university is over). Main worry is the current lecturer's industrial action – they're refusing to mark coursework or exams so whether my year will get any results remains to be seen. I suspect in the event people not graduating due to unmarked work we'll see a slew of lawsuits against both the universities and the lecturer's unions, rightly so to my mind – we can't do anything about their complaints (pay, as usual), so why are we the ones who suffer?

Peter, fine here thanks, how's things at your end? I'll have to have a rummage for some Russian train photos on the web – so far the Bachmann Chinese stock all appears to be very recent builds so it looks only vaguely similar to the Russian equipment, certainly not close enough for a bit of kitbashing. The coaches they offer look almost European as opposed to the old corrugated-side Soviet-era stuff.

John, it's now pelting down here again – clearly we got our monthly ration of sun over the weekend!

Rob, interesting story regarding the loose pets, there's been more than a few reports of “big cats” seen in the wild over here, not sure how accurate they are as no concrete evidence exists beyond a few shaky videos. Theory is that they escaped or were quietly released when new laws made it illegal to keep them without a license. Personally I can see how a few leopards/panthers/whatever could survive in the wild, they're usually seen in farming areas and a few sheep going missing wouldn't attract much attention.

*** You are so roght about the tools that let their "critters" loose after they become boared of them.One wonders howmany burmease pythons and large boas now infest our forests once they outgrew their "charm" as pets ?I'm glaad that Ontario has some fairly stringent rules and regs about owning dangerous creatures. Remember the fad in the 50's and 60's when people thought that panther's and tigers made for a good pet ?

Good evening guys, just a quick note.....the HISTORY CHANNEL is showing how they move huge steam locomotives from storage to run again on the rails, on a program titled " MEGA-MOVERS". It is scheduled to be aired this TUESDAY, May 9th, at 10PM EDST. So for you folks that can receive the History Channel, this should be a great 1 hour show. I poted this on the main forum also, but just in case it gets buried deep in threadland, I wanted to make sure that at least the CS gang received the smoke signal.

Evening all just time foe a 1/2 cup of coffee...No train time today we made a road trip to see our son in Robinson today....He's doing some remodeling of building we are going to build a layout in its 10 by 10 with work bench under...Yes 44.00 for a hopper is to much for my budjet...I remeber when Atheran came out with 2 bays at 1.98 and discounters were beating that and a 1.98 was more than they had been charging..It sure is making it hard for folks to get into the hobby they go to a train show see a 30 car coal drag then find out those cars are 44.00..Oh well cox get down off of your soap box its bed time...Have a Good one Jerry
