Good afternoon, Chloe - I'll take it easy on PA - just some cheese fries and a Dr. Pepper for now. That's assuming that it's not all gone like the rootbeer, too. Evil [}:)]Whistling [:-^]Whistling [:-^]Whistling [:-^]

Just dropping by before I head home and then to dinner with daughter and son-in-law. Celebrating Thanksgiving and my birthday (a week ago on the latter); going to eat Mexican (would really like a small steak or salmon, but they're buying, so I'm going easy on their budget). Dinner [dinner]

As for what I'd like under the treee, a nice USRA Mikado (P2K would do okay) would be nice - I'm easy to please.Smile [:)] I've actually been a bit too active with eBay lately - will have to take a vacation from them until after the New Year. Won two Kadee boxcars last night (40' and a 50'), and I'm still waiting on some other things to get here. Dang post office box was empty again today(!). Sad [:(]

Will be taking off work between Christmas and New Year's - that will be nice! Say, Paul - how's that retirement thing coming along? Fighting the urge to go back to work? Wink [;)]

Luc, any word on the grandbaby yet? And do you have a suitable toy ready for the young'un yet (like, say, a Thomas the Train or such?)? Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Well, about time to clock out here, so I'll see you all later.

Blessings,

Jim in Cape Girardeau

If I find out it's you who sniped that loco outta my hands... Evil [}:)]

I've been a bit e-bay happy myself though (Christmas presents to myself):

  • (New) Standard Line Bachmann Niagara (if my bid doesn't get blown outta the water)
  • Mantua NYC Mike
  • Mantua NYC Hudson

<$200 shipped.  I think I got off pretty well - even if the smoke for the Niagara is a gimmick, I'm still getting all three for a little more than a Niagara @ MSRP.

If the Niagara doesn't pull that well... c'est la vie.  At least it'll look nice on the rails Big Smile [:D] (though I'll need to get it a few cars to pull as well...)

Yep - I'm a lost cause.  Chalk up another chronic case of MRR-Sickness.

Evening all,

just a quick java for me, not been in much latley, lots on my mind and lots to do. I have done a fair bit on the layout, at present i'm just working on the peninsular up the middle of the garage, i have been laying out the buildings and trying diferent track plans but can't decide which way to go, one gives me plenty of operating fun but does not look right, the other looks right but does not give me much operating fun, Mmmmmmm

i'll sleap on it

DAN:  You may be just out of your teen age years Dan, but the very fact that can recognize what is really going on with youngsters, makes you wise beyond your years. The one thing that I have learned about life after 67 years, and that I regard as most important, is that everything we do must be in moderation and balance. I am happy to see that you have embraced a really good hobby, one that can give you hours of your own creativity.

OK guys, Zoe has asked me to set up music in the CS so that when we arrive in the morning, we can start off our day with a little "JOY". So turn ON the speaker at your table and give a listen, and see how you like it.....ohh..and I added a little video screen too at MIKE and DUKE's request.

'grats Luc!

on another high note - I just commandeered the three locos above for LESS than I thought (i was making the assumption that the bid on the Niagara would be at the max).  Cost me as much for the three of them as the Niagara itself would have (well, incl. shipping on both counts).

I can't wait to get my "new" locos... Big Smile [:D]

Congratulations GPP, and how about a little something “to wet the baby’s head” as they say?  As you know, Chloë will get you virtually anything!

Steve: Good to hear from you again. I guess it’s a matter of what you want to do most, gaze at perfection, or operate trains.   I’d go for the operations layout myself, and adapt solutions to the way it looks as time goes by.  Easier to do that than retrofit for good ops.

Goodnight all, and God Bless.  Prayers for all in need of healing, comfort and peace.

And I've got this page, with pleasure!

OK, besides cigars, what'll it be?

I suppose a Birthday Cake is in order!  Let's make it a nice one!

Thought I'd make it a nice one since all you'll be getting for the next few years is Barney the purple dinosaur!

Good morning, all, and a Happy B-Day [bday] to Haley (and congrats to
 Great-Grandpa
Luc)! Zoe, please hide me a piece of that birthday cake (you know, in that spot that the chowhounds don't know about...). Cake for breakfast doesn't quite do it for me, but I'd like a slice later in the day. Thanks!

Dan, t'wasn't me bidding on that loco - I've only bid on some boxcars, a structure or two and one diesel (which I didn't win). Sounds like you got some bargains there.

Well, got to get ready for work - but it's casual Friday (YAY!!)! Weekend's about here. Smile [:)]

Middlin' cold today - about 11, but at least we're not getting any snow (just yet).

Blessings,

Jim in Cape Girardeau
