CSX_road_slug Fergie, remember how you and TEFFY used to tease me about my reluctance to jump into DCC? Well, those days are over: I’ve now got my Digitrax Super Chief and LocoNet fully installed on the layout, and decoders in 21 of my 50 locos. Yeeee-Haw! Of course now I’m being pressured by Fugate & Company to buy a dedicated trainroom ‘puter with a PR3 adaptor, and install DecoderPro on it. But first I’ve gotta buy a dozen signals…and with a daughter in college, my train budget has shrunk quite a bit!
Wow, What can I say! Congratz to say the least. DCC As to the Train Room Computer small steps small steps. I maybe looking down the road at that when we replace our present Computer, which is presently about 7 years old. Whether or not it will have the right stuff to drive signals and CTC functions is something I will have to look at. Then again a Laptop might also be a possibility. Yes Son number one is looking at University for next year. I'm hoping he can keep his average going so he will be eligible for scholarships. The kid is a heck of a lot smarter than his old man was for sure! And Brass aquisitions have all but ceased on the MESS due to lack of fiscal restraint during our trip to Toronto last week
Fergie
PS good to see ya again Ken

Greetings everyoneIt's a beautiful sunny Fall morning here in the mid 'Lantic region, which for me means honey dues and no model railroading. Later I'll be taking my 10yr-old to a soccer game and while that's going on, I'll try contacting a group of my fellow Alabama railfan friends from the coffee shop across the street. They're known as the Alabama Rail Gang [ARG], and they're having a meet in front of the Irondale Cafe [where the movie Fried Green Tomatoes was filmed]. I'll be calling one of them from my cell phone and he'll put his phone on "speaker" mode, so it'll be like a conference call between me and all the 'Bama guys. Gotta love this 21st-century technology! Zoe, I'll have a vegetarian omelette with extra tomatoes and green peppers. [hey Cape Jim - at what website do you find all those pics of the food you're ordering?]
jeffrey-wimberlyKen: Nice to see that you made the leap to Digitrax as well. I hooked my Digitrax Zephyr up on the 6th and it's been a fascinating two weeks so far.

Good Morning All
Flo! A Saturday Morning Special please!
Mark: the pool works like this: You pick a winner and a loser for each week, Can't pick a team second time regardless if you chose them to win or lose last time so once you've used a team that's it! You're allowed one "by" for lose and win and you get two points for every right pick. And here is my choices up to last week. By the way it all went down hill after I came home from sea and started to do the picks myself. Should'a let Lisa continue but she said it was "My Pool" and I would have to work for it!!!
ONE Eagles Rams
TWO Green Bay Detroit
THREE 49’s Bengals
FOUR Broncos Chiefs
FIVE Cowboys Dolphins
SIX Redskins Rams
Anyway Peter King on the S.I. / CNN site should be put on waivers as he's kill'n me here!
RT: Glad ya made it in! Yes I was talking to Teffy about two weeks ago and I hope to get a hold of him today or tomorrow. He survived the Hurricane yet again but did lose some shingles in the process.
Lee: Thanks and yes it's the Walthers kit, which went together nicley. The figures probably cost me more than the kit!
Paul: Who's all in there there... Everyone! Though I can't find a Chandelier small enough... YET! Lighting will be with LED's and Clear plastic tubes (Left over sprues (sic) from windows) as i want to give it the florescent bulb look and keep it small. I would say it's only half complete. So much ta do so little time! BTW
Garry & Morgan: Thank you for the Kudos! as with everything it's a work in progress! Garry Sorry to here about your friend and her Cancer ordeal. Hopefully with additional treatment and support she will overcome this dreadful disease. As to the other business... Unfortunately it's everywhere and no one is immune from it!

Good morning. It's 53 and clear. High today should be in the upper 70's and it will be partly cloudy.Did a little work yesterday with changing out some of the structure lighting. Also did some work on a pedestrian bridge that crosses over the tracks. It's a Model Power copy of a Faller kit and doesn't have the fine detail of the of the more expensive European manufacturer. On the other hand it will give my people a safe way to cross the tracks. It's not handi-cap friendly though. Had a slight interruption yesterday when the power went out. Turned out that a tree behind my parents property fell over on the lines. The power was out about 45 minutes.Today's Weather for:Sundown, LA 71446-6114 10/18/2008Wind Chill: 52°FHumidity: 81%Dew Point: 47°FSo Far TodayHigh: 56°FLow: 53°FRain: 0.00"Rain Rate: 0.00"/hGust: 5mph NNEToday High: 78 Mostly sunny. Fergie: Football Pool? Bit confused there... Explain and maybe I can help.
RRnut: Happy 14th birthday. I turned 14 two months ago myself. Hope you enjoy it.
GO COWBOYS!

Sad news from here. Our good friend at church still has cancer after all that surgery and chemo.
More sad news. A real tragedy. At a home in the rural lower corner of our county near Fort Campbell Army Post, four family members were stabbed and their house set on fire. One survived. Dead are a 5 year old boy and two teen age girls. Senseless.
Good Night.

Happy Anniversary Paul.

Whoa, forum overhaul AND ETD six.
I've been so busy applying for high schools lately. I don't think I've had a good nights sleep in about three weeks. But nonetheless, its good to be back.
Today I turned 14. While my family didn't seem to notice (though we had celebrated a few weeks earlier the same time as my grandfather aunt and sister) my friends did. Its good to be closer to driving...
Go Bucs, Bulls, Gators, and Rays BEAT BOSTON!
Tomorrow my parents and I will go to see the USF Bulls play Syracuse. My mom's boss had box seats but he gave the tickets to us.
Evening Gang: Well we had a good time tonight. We went to our favorite German resturant and had a ball. If any of you are in Ft Worth go to the Eldelweisse and Tell Bernd that I sent you. He is one fine fellow and puts out very good food and a fine show.
I do use word when I have a bunch of things to say or many replys. Most of the time I just make it quick and use the reply. The problem seems to have been fixed. There is now a line down the right side of the reply box and the line is doing what it should do.
Fergie the diner looks good. So who is that in there?
Thank you to all for the annervesery wishes. I really hit the jack pot with Mary Ann. I must say that when I saw her coming down the isle I was really sure that I had the ONE. Tomorrow we're going to the Gaylord Texan Resort for the night. Mr Clark gave us a gift card this spring for doing the train show. It's a swank place that we would not go to otherwise. I'll see you all Sunday if I don't get to a puter tomorrow.
Good Night All
Well Boys and girls!
Just needs lights and and a roof
Hoople; Good to see ya, especially as I need a hand with my Football pool ever since I got home from sea I have been taking a real a kicking! Lisa was picking my choices before and was getting 100%
Maybe Morgan can give me pointers as well Please!!!
Go figure!
Wow, we seem to get kicked out or move a lot...
PC: Thanks for the photobucket link. Take a look at the signature.
I also got a new avatar. It's football season, time for a little Jason Witten, my favorite player, and who I try to be like on the field. No one has knocked my helmet off though... If you've heard of the Cowboy injuries, apparently Romo actually might play this sunday. Nobody knows...
Well I've got a dance to get to. See y'all at 10.
FlashwaveAlso, Themod squad took away our DeLorean. The Archive only goes to the last Diner. The Coffeshop and 1-4 don;t show up for me. No more timetravelling to actually read what happened.
Actually, you may be able to, if you have any links for an older Coffee Shop or Diner. Enter them on this site. Try it and see. Useful often for webpages that aren't there, or have changed since a few months ago.
Alas, it only goes as deep as the MR General Discussion forum list page. Maybe they'll have it in the Kalmbach store on CDROM in a couple of months?

Evening, Chloe - how about a cup of coffee
and (at risk of starting a stampede in the DIner) a slice of apple pie a la mode?
Thanks, and you'd better make sure the chef has another couple of pies in the oven for once PC hears the word 'PIE'...
bjdukert Duke P.S. Hey they fixed the thing of not going back to the first page when you post.
Duke
P.S. Hey they fixed the thing of not going back to the first page when you post.
Yep, Duke, they have - and I discovered a work-around for the centering alignment that isn't in the toolbar (yet). They do have the Indent button. If you're on a photo's [ IMG].... line, you click on the Indent button (and you can do that more than one time), you get the photo indented (I think - I'm trying it in this post). Looks like it only indents that one line you're on, so you don't have to fool around with 'un-indenting' for the lines after that.
Paul, for your and Mary Ann's anniversary - how'd she put up with you that long? (Just kidding) Congratulations, indeed!
Now, to eat my dessert before PC and our other pie-eaters arrive...
Blessings,
Evening gang!
I'm glad I was able to follow the leftover cookie crumbs someone left for me to get to here!
Paul and MaryAnn - Happy Anniversary!
Well gang, just a quick stop in. Tomorrow is more unpacking and yard work.
Take care!

Hunter - When we met in January of 2000, you were just a 6 week old pup who walked his way into this heart of mine as the only runt in the litter who would come over to me. And today, I sit here and tell you I am sorry we had to put you down. It was the best thing for you and also the right thing to do. May you now rest in peace and comfort. Love, Dad. 8 June 2010
I love you and miss you Mom. Say hi to everyone up there for me. Rest in peace and comfort. Love, John. 29 March 2017
Fergi, the bat didn’t break the skin, but our relative speed was about 60 kts and I wasn’t prepared for it. I did clean my head with antibacterial hand wash and let the Doc at sick call look at it the next morning.
Paul, Congratulations on your 39th.
Well Dorothy surprised the heck out of me tonight she gave me my sweetest day, birthday, and Christmas present tonight: 4 barstools (wrought Iron with padded seat with back and they swivel). She bought them for me and my friends to use in the train room.
Derr, I shot you a message.
Mitch, 26OCT08 Medina Fairgrounds Train show, I guess I’m going. The ballast guy is going to be there so I need to pick up 15 pounds of ballast.
Have a good evening all…
Hey guys. I love Diners, you here all the great stroes from the ORF patrons. And yet, the staff never ages a day. Some Tuna Helper please.
Ferg: No issues, I half suspected that the Diner would be cut short with the move anyway. But I was of the impression hat we'd need to restart old threads.
Also, Themod squad took away our DeLorean. The Archive only goes to the last Diner. The Coffeshop and 1-4 don;t show up for me. No more timetravelling to actually read what happened.

I’m just killing some time at the office this Friday afternoon, waiting for a callback, otherwise I’d be long gone. Nothing much happening here weatherwise in the Mid Atlantic region – and that’s a good thing of course. (Except I won’t have any excuses to avoid the outdoor Honey Dues, LOL)
derJohn and CapeJim – thanks for the welcome back, guys!
Paul, congrats to you and Maryanne on your 39th. Quite an accomplishment in this era of drive-thru divorces!

Afternoon gang: Well things seem to be working better. I'm on Yahoo internet exployer. I'll have to see what happens when I get to the right side of the page. Yep it is going on to who knows where. I wounder just how far it will go. Alot farther then this. Ok I'll hit the return and get back to the left margin. If I keep on going here I'll be in Pokipsee in no time.
This will be interesting to see how it looks after I post. In the past it posted normally.
The kids are taking Mary Ann and I out for dinner tonight. It's our 39 wedding annerversary. I can hardly believe the we have been married 39 years. Of course since we have kids 37 and 36 years old I guess it's a good thing. It looks like I'm on my way to pokipsee again.
Please tell me someone else is having this problem.
I guess I'll head out and get cleaned up for tonight.
See you all later.
By the way I think it was Flip that was swinging from the chandeleir and he got whooped when he found out about how to tell the twins apart. Ofr course I could be wrong but that's what remember seeing from under the table.
Actually garry, we lost, 20-6. Now we play for third in the county. We might be playing the team we creamed 50-12 earlier in the season. And i told ya'll about my cramps in the previous diner, but here's the story again:
The other team is on their 20 when my right calf goes up in a cramp, and i come out foir one play (I wasn't supposed to). I got that cramp about half-way worked out on the sideline, but was still in imense pain when I went back in. Well, it was a long drive to our 40, when my left calf just completly locked up. I couldn't oput any weight on it, and if you felt it, you could feel the muscle deformed. So I had to hop on my right foot all the way from the far hash mark (the little lines every yard between the center and sidelines of the field) to our sideline. Not fun. And my muscles are still sore from those cramps. I'm not sure how many tackles I got, but I'm guessing between 3 and 6. I also almost returned a fumble on a PAT for a safty, but got tackled at the last minute before I would have gotten my feet. What sucks is we apparently only needed to score two more points and we would have been in the championship. And guess how much a safty is? 2 POINTS!!! >:( oh well, can't change the past. I'm just glad that we got both thursday and friday off of practice (my calfs wouldn't have survived a practice thursday anyways). But then we play on thursday next week, not wednesday.
