All right!

There's another thread running called "Unexpected discoveries in this hobby," but this answer is more appropriate here.  I've re-discovered the joy of being a kid with trains.  When I ran my first train after installing the DCC system, suddenly it all came back, and I was 12 again.  (My drivers license says I'm 60.  Hah.  Fooled them.)

Another one of those childlike joys has been the UPS truck.  Now, when I know something's being shipped, I get all psyched up over packages at the door.  Sure, it's a bummer when it turns out to be my wife's dietary supplements, but when the return address is Discount Trains Online or Trainworld, then my eyes really light up.

May your Northern bring you many years of enjoyment.

Too bad if it is truly broken.  Still, I am sure you can return it.  If you can save for a few months and get a Spectrum Mountain, or maybe a BLI Niagara from Trainworld or somewhere that sells 'em cheap, it would alomst certainly be a much better experience for you.

Bummer.

They cant grow if you dont talk to them lol. I am very impressed with your work ethic. The odd jobs you do may pay well but you still have to save, sorry about your engine, usually if you tell the seller the situation they will help you out.

Whistling [:-^]

Yes, send it or them back to Bachmann in Philly and they will help you out.

They are very good about that.  Sometimes a little slow, they say they have a 60 day turn around but I have waited close to four months.  But, they do a good job. and I am pleased.

Sorry to bust your bubble upchuck......but even with the warranty papers, nothing bought on ebay from an individual seller is covered....only from a recognized dealer....thats why they ask where you got the loco on the warranty paper.

You could lie and say you got it at a LHS, but when they check the s.n. they're gonna know you lied.

You might take it in and let the LHS look at it and see if it's worth fixing and let them do it, but Bachmann won't fix it free.

I would contact Bachmann and explain the situation, being completely honest.  Ask them if they'll still "stand by their product."  Use that exact phrase.  It's hard for them to say, "No, we don't stand by our product."

Model Railroading just isn't full of greedy venture-capitalist types who are trying to squeeze every dollar out of every sale.  Mostly, MR type companies are really interested in the hobby, and keeping customers satisfied is important to them.  Besides, it's a small market, and reputation is very important for future sales.

NO, it's NOT, If you read the "warranty" "paper"s that you have, you would see that the lifetime warrany applies to the Original Purchaser only, and only if the warranty card was sent in within TEN DAYS of original purchase. otherwise a copy of the ORIGINAL purchase reciept from an aurthorized dealer will be required, and no, eBay doesn't count, unless from qualified store front dealer.

In other words, your S.O.L.! NO warranty!!

P.S. stop sending me P.M.s I will not reply!!
