Man this is on amazing layout, wish I had the money
Wild HO layout on eBay
That is pretty good.
We all have the money, one peice at a time.
It is a nice looking and well built railroad.
Sure, it looks ok... but it is not MY layout. By this, I mean I think if I bought a layout I would eventually HATE it... seriously, isn't half the fun of model railroading making YOUR world... this would be just buying someone elses world. Of course, the other half of the fun of MRR is running trains, which this would allow...
For me, I would rather build and enjoy the accomplishments in that and have a truly custom (for me) built system! I imagine others will agree or disagree with me, but this is my 2 cents...

True,
But running them is the fun part, for me at least..
That's a real nice N gauge. It's not really that bad a price either. That would make a nice apartment layout if you didn't want to go through the mess of building one.
Strange? I thought E Bay auctions were only 7 days. This ones 8+.???

Yeah, they've had 10 day auctions for years now..
A picture may be worth 1000 words, but if I planned to be a serious bidder I'd arrange a quick trip to Coaldale, CO, to arrange a direct, personal eyeball view:
Actually, since I have a very detailed, very personal set of 'givens and druthers,' not to mention an entire double garage to work in, this offer, while interesting, simply doesn't meet my parameters.
Just my . Feel free to disagree.

"Stay Alert, Don't get hurt Safety First!"
"Hey, nice layout!"
"Thanks!"
"How long did it take you to build it?"
"No time at all! I bought it on eBay!"
"Oh... you didn't build it yourself?"
"Nope! Just typed in the winning bid!"
"Hmm... Okay, what's the theme here? Does it have a prototype?"
"Who knows? I bought it on eBay! I guess you'd have to talk to the guy that actually built it."
"Okay... so other than running trains on it, you didn't really do anything creative or cosntructive with it?"
"Don't you get it??? I bought it on EBAY!!!"

BRAKIE wrote:That is a fine example of a small layout needing DCC..Did you notice the 3 MRC Tech 2s? Way to many and to complex for a small layout.Since there isn't a yard I would use a single Tech II.
my interpretation of the description is that there are 3 seperate tracks (a track schematic would be nice!), each one would need it's own Tech2 so you could run a loco on each track and it would look very busy with three trains going at once . not the way i'd build a layout but certainly not uncommon with DC control .
it's a nicely done layout , but not what i'd be interested in , and the 3000 mile drive to pick it up is a deal breaker

Yeah, shipping's gonna be a killer on this thing.

Yeah, I doubt there is a way to ship it without breaking it..
Maybe it is just because i am not a n scaler but were is the wow? i have seen fineer details than that from a standerd gauge layout. and all that stuff was tin.
I like to look at a railroad and say "It looks good." and enjoy whatever I can get out of it.
But I cannot buy a layout for whatever. I prefer to BUILD my own for better or worse.
To me there is nothing sadder than a railroad that no one wants. The best solution is to strip out parts, structures and items that have value and demo the rest.
It is my firm opinion.... that a builder will NEVER recoup the value of a railroad unless it is built of VERY fine quality kit built structures of the highest degree offered by Master Modelers among us. It is suppose to be a journey that brings joy and relieves stress... not some franken-investment.
I've got the money but I already committed half of it bidding on an empty Lionel box also offerred on eBay.
