I've been planning, reading threads and working on the layout since early February. Well, I couldn't stand it any longer. On Sunday night I placed an order for the B & O NW2/SW7 switcher from BLI and it arrived today. It looks great to me with a lot of detail but Ive never seen another switcher either model or otherwise so anything would probably look good to me. It is also DCC and sound equipied . As for how good it runs and sounds I'll have to wait a while to find that out. I am just getting ready to l;ay the fist sections of track. Atleast I'll have an engine to test as I go as reccomended on one of the threads. I just wanted to share my excitement.

Don't Ever Give Up
Congratulations to you! This is a great feeling and everyone here can relate to buying that first loco and then all of the anticipation of seeing it run on the tracks you put down. That BLI unit is indeed a fine loco and should bring you lots of good running time.
Enjoy the moment, take your time, relax and have fun, it is an exciting time!
Thanks for the encouragement. I don't plan on becoming a collector but who does? I already have in mind 4 more must haves including a steamer or two. My 22" radius curves will limit my choices, however.
Bob.
Ohhhh...... when you mentioned " buck fever ", I thought you meant.....
I get it too. Oh well, never mind....lol.
Hey, that was a good shot. Better to hunt with a camera. Yes, in my area of the country buck fever means pulling the trigger too soon or bing too anxious.
Hey, that's exciting, Bob! Thanks for sharing! Although I don't have one, I think you'll be happy with your BLI switcher.
I remember when I bought my first DCC system. I ended up buying the Bachmann E-Z Command because it was fairly inexpensive ($53) - PLUS, I could afford a couple of decoders to outfit the two locomotives that I add in my roster. Boy, was it fun to run the two of them on the same track and have them do different things.
Bob, keep us posted on your progress...

Time...It marches on...without ever turning around to see if anyone is even keeping in step.
Yo tom,
Yes that's what I had in mind. A train on a continous run with another delivering cars to industry while using the switcher or any combiation of the three. I hope to post a picture after I get the back drop done. errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Haha! I was thinking the same thing! In fact, I saw several deer along the old B&O "Streets Run" branch near Pittsburgh this morning. Some of them were even on the tracks!
