just getting my track laid.  temporarily added a transformer and wired track.  no movement.  appears voltage is getting to the track but no indication from locomotive.  can anyone give me some advice?

What scale?  What type of track?  What type wire did you use between the controller and track?  We need lots more detail about what you have done before we can hazard a guess as to what might be wrong.

Hi.  It doesn't look promising....if you are positive the rails are powered, and you get no movement from the loco, there is a power interruption on or in the loco.  It could be that tracks, wheels, pickups, or all three need cleaning, or that the leads are corroded and/or broken, or that a solder has gone back at the motor, or that the brushes are toasted a wee bit much....many things.
