Good evening all!

Just a cup of coffee please Zoe. Thanks.

Just got back from my parents. I love them dearly but my Mom smokes like a stove. So I'm just finishing washing all the clothes and Febreezing all the luggage. Unfortunately, at 75, Mom ain't changing her ways.

Lisa : For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. There now you don't have to go looking.[swg]

PC : Sorry to hear about your problems. As I was reading your saga, I unfortunately could see where it was going. Welcome to the post 9/11 world. The railroads really don't care about you but they need to respond to the threat warnings they get from DHS.

OH, and for those of you who like to start calling the USA the next NAZI Germany.......Please stop. We're not even close. If you would take a look at the British and French version of the their Patriot Act you would think the ACLU wrote the US version.

The problem the railroads, airlines and sea ports face is how to meet numerous threats with limited resources. From the airline perspective, we know what should and could be done but no one wants to pay for it. And the payer will be the airline passenger through higher ticket prices. Considering that railroads have 500 times more land to cover than the airlines, I could not imagine the cost to do all that could be done to secure the railroads.

For all the bonehead things DHS has done, they have also done some real good work. But then that wouldn't be has much fun to report. There are some new technologies that are now in the testing phase that should end certain restrictive rules but first implementation is two to three years away.

Finally, no real secret here. Raids on various terrorist camps have turned up pictures of targeted sites. Railfanning can produce the exact same types of pictures. Given the current environment, can you blame security for getting bent out of shape? Hopefully, common sense will prevail and all charges will be dropped.
