It's no contest--cab ride. After spending a year working as a train dispatcher and having to ride the cabs to become terrirtory-qualified there is nothing like being in the cab. I worked for a transit rr and the division I was on had approximately 30 miles of running with station stops every couple of miles. Then it was another 50 or so miles of rural running with only 5 or 6 stops. It definitely has changed my perspective and has given me a much greater respect for the power of trains.
