To my mind this two page thread once again sadly points out just how much nonsense, B.S. and misinformation can be generated by hobby forums (and certainly not just this one, either!).

Quite early on, I posted that Bar Mills discontinuation of its billboard line had nothing to do with copyrights or anything of the sort. However, the thread continued to steamroll right on with increasingly pointless speculation and recriminations of big business or logos and such as related to the hobby, their legal efforts to guard their properties and other even less significant material relative to the actual situation. So, I'll once again point out the reason the billboards have been terminate by Bar Mills, as was related to me by one of the hobby's major retailers of BM's products.

The simple fact of the matter is that Bar Mills' entire stock of existing billboards, numbering in the hundreds, was bought out by an entrepreneurial hobbyist apparently intent on selling finished (built-up) examples himself. Bar Mills is currently into offering much more expensive items and kits with a much better profit margin than its billboards and appears simply not to wish to re-start their manufacture at the cost of loosing laser-cutter and printing time from their line of more profitable craftsman structure kits...a very simple and logical decision in my book.

Jumping to conclusions is a great form of exercise!
If you ain't having fun, you're not doing it right and if you are having fun, don't let anyone tell you you're doing it wrong.
