Be sure that the track you are buying has nickle-silver rail. Many of the cheaper brands of track have steel rail or brass rail. These cheaper types of track are difficlut to keep clean because they oxidize into a non-metallic oxide that does not conduct electricity very well. My experience is that you don't want to skimp on the track. A few extra dollars are well spent in this area.
