Christmas Greeting
Posted by selector on Saturday, December 23, 2006 8:58 PM

To those of you who would accept such a greeting, Merry Christmas.  Thanks for a great year, for your friendship, for kicking me in the pants when it was due, and for your encouragement.

We will have at least 20 people, most relatives, on Christmas Day for dinner.  We have to cook two turkeys.  Wife has been doing mincemeat tarts and cakes for the past three days.  Luckily, it was at her sister's place, so I didn't have to wash umpteen bowls, beaters, spoons, measuring spoons and cup, and cake and tart pans.  Although, I did miss it. Sad [:(]

I have my doulbe slip back, put right, and hope to get to work and finish my yard over the holidays.  It is my bottleneck, and I have been held up for two weeks.

To my non-Christian friends here, I wish you a safe turn of the year, and hope that you will continue to contribute as you have in the months ahead.  May your fortunes, especially in model railroading, be full and plenty.

Best regards,

-Crandell Overton

Merry Christmas to you too selector, and a Happy New Year as well...

My family Christmas gathering was ruined by a selfish co-worker this year who promised he would work for me so I could be with my family and see my nephew Adam who is a Marine and will soon be going to Iraq, but then backed out at the last minute because he was invited to a wild party. I promise I will repay him for this in ways that you can only imagine. He doesn't know it yet, but as of mid January I will become his supervisor. He might as well resign from his job now because when I get finished with him he'll be so miserable he'll think the devil has become his boss. I'm not joking!...

To All A very blessed Christmas to you all. The kids have finally gone to bed (teenagers but they still get just as excited as always) so santa (My wife and I) can finally "arrive". Our plans for tomorrow include church in the morning to remember the reason for the celebration, come home to open presents, a family lunch (a hot lunch this year as it is going to be an unusually cool 20 degrees celcius instead of the more usual 30 degrees or higher (but a dry heat so bearable)), and friends over for dinner. I hope santa brings you all your railway(road) items of choice. Hoping to experience a white Christmas in the Canadian Rockies next year (probably 40 to 50 degrees celcius colder than our usual christmas here) Anyway, Santa has now visited (its taken about an hour to type this post with his interruptions), and it has actually ticked over to Christmas day. Merry Christmas God Bless Graham (GMT +10hrs + 1hr for daylight saving)

Merry Christmas to everyone and thanks for the help over the year.

To CP5415 it looks like we are going to have a green Christmas here in Hanover, Ontario but it sounds like it will turn white the day after (boxin Day) in the Great White North.

To all those who are Christians and celebrate Christmas, a big Merry Christmas:-). To those who celebrate channuka may all your candles stay well lit ;-). To those who celebrate Kwanza, may your season be filled with joy. To those who dont celebrate any such thing...enjoy your day at work so those who do celebrate can have it off............................. Some presents came early here to some...I caught a large fat man in a red suit out in the back woods. He said he was looking for a raindeer. I said, well it IS raining, and there are deer in these woods but its past hunting season.....he gave me a sac with some things in it to give to some close to me saying without that extra raindeer his sleigh would pull like a bad cheap steam loco on a steep grade. I said I was glad to help...and to be on the lookout...the cops in this area are doing extra DWI stops during the holidays!:-) galaxy

Let's see.....20 miles from Auburn, 5 miles west of Notasulga ........ Reeltown, Liberty City, Tallassee?

Very good.....Liberty City is the correct answer.  My mother still lives there.  She retired from Auburn after 30+ years.  Enjoy the rest of your Christmas and have a safe and Happy New Year.
