One reason this site is so slow is that all of the RealMedia ads and animations have to be redrawn every time you change pages (such as when you're following the thread of a forum discussion). I personally find the slowdown annoying. I suppose I might feel differently if I could afford a high speed DSL or cable line but since I can't, I just have to suffer through the slowdown everytime I click on a link. It's frustrating!
