Best way to replicate asphalt roads?
Posted by Rob on Friday, October 6, 2006 6:47 PM

Hi all,

What is the best paints/method to finish a scale asphalt road?  I have tried some methods in the past, but they always turn out looking too "new"  I want to duplicate a well traveled road, not all busted up but weathered a bit so it doesn't look like a freshly sealed driveway. I currently have cork roadbed layed down for the base (N scale) and am planning on using plaster as the final surface. In the past I tried using different shades of black paint/weathering chalks and adding tar lines and patch details, but they looked to manicured and stood out too much for being N scale. Any good ideas I could try? Thanks ----Rob
