Merging a satellite image and a railway map

On this rainy Saturday afternoon I have completed a project I wanted to try for some time and I know that some people on the forum have discussed, merging a satellite image and a railway map.
A couple of notes, I do similar work professionally, so it only took me a couple of hours. It might take someone with less experience a lot longer.
Second, this is a regional view, not the more detailed view that most modellers would want to use, but I think this shows it can be done if you have the right originals and the tools.
The satellite image is of the northwestern part of Thailand, where the River Kwai Burma Thailand Railway once ran. The map is a contemporary air navigation map from the Second World War which shows the route of the railway. (There is no way to tell from the map if it was RAF or USAF, since both operated in the area.)
I chose the Burma Thailand Railway because my late father was a POW, I have written a book on the subject to be published next May and am freelancing a model based on the idea that the railway continued in operation after the war.
You will find all the details of how I did it
on my blog
at http://robinrowland.com/garret/2006/09/what-if-there-had-been-satellite-image.html.
You can click on the image in the blog to see a larger version. (Resolution and size were reduced for web display from the original final project)

That might be interesting if the picture wasn't so tiny. If you rotate it 90 degrees, and re post it, it should enlarge then.
It is enough that Jesus died and that he died for me.
