30's - 50's era Somers Montana (Kalispell)
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, August 10, 2006 9:36 PM
Hi

I am looking for anyone that has any information on the Somers Montana area (GN) for the 30's to 50's era..  I am trying to model the lumber spurs into Somers, but have come up short of locating a track plan.  I have some photos, but its hard to figure the exact buildings and rail from them.

Any info would be appreciated

cheers

Greetings, Matt. While I personally have not the information you are seeking,

might I suggest that you check out the Great Northern Yahoo group. There are

members there who very likely have exactly what you're looking for-as I recently

read several posts there regarding that very subject. Try www.gngoat@yahoo.com

'Tis a good place to go anyway for any GN fan.

Hope that helps - using the old USGS map and that arial photograph should get you in the ballpark.
