im finishing  scratchbuilding my fruit packing house on the layout and i need to add some fruit crates filled with citrus and maybe some empty crates as well. any idea on how to model those? any idea on the size of the crate fruit shipper used in mid to late 50's? layout is set in southern california in mid to late 50's. are they similar shape as apple boxes? the one i remember using when i was picking apples were about 4 by 4 by 3 feet high

Here are some URL links for you to begin the search. Find the prototype and try to build one from scratch with either styrene then weathered or with scale lumber then weathered. Also a few sites with the old Fruit Crate Labels. Just go to your Internet browser search tool and type in "fruit crate" you will find many resources for prototypes.
