I am sure this has been listed before but I have not figured it out. I got a photo bucket account before so I could post pic here.
Confused Cuda Ken again?
I hate Rust
Ken,
Yeah this has caused several punters a problem.
You already have the photobucket account, so try this:
Should work like that. Sorry I forget the trick Joe Fugate explained so that I could type that out for you. If I type the code as given above in para 2 the screen shows a red cross in a square
Yeah it works. But why should we have to learn all this code nonsense??

Where you want the photo, type "[img". Then a closing "]" Then Type "[/img]". Now, put your cursor between those two lots of square brackets and paste your URL. Should work like that. If you have photobucket, you do not need to do all that. Under each photo is three lines. The bottom of the three already has the IMG tags included, just copy and paste that link and you are good to go. I wish this info was stickied on all the forums here to make life a bit easier for all.
Good post pathfinder. We need to keep these answered. I have posted this about six times as well. When I was trying to figure it out, some of you guys answered my post about 5 times and I appreciated that, it took me so long to catch on.
I have learned , with my computer, that all I have to do is put the curser over the IMG line at Photobucket and left click once. I then use Control c to copy. Then use the window tab at top to jump to the Thread I am posting in. Put the curser where I want the pic, do a Control V and it is done. I have learned it looks a little better if I put a space between the pics.
Looking forward to more pics from all of you.
I think it is working. You like my board? Like I wish it was mine but I did get to derail on it!

The *img* tags should work for any url - but it doesn't; quite frankly I don't see why I need to use photobucket.
Can we have some feedback from Bergie please as to when this is going to be fixed?

Can you give an example of a web site where it does not work? Then I can look at it.I doubt Bergie (or anyone else from Trains.com) will respond, they have not to date.

I assume the IMG tags will only work for images hosted on a website that allows outside linking. Using the tags for any image found on any site will probably not work. We have supplied advice on how to post photos, but it seems some want to do it a different way. Good luck!

Bob - I've been posting from my own website. It does allow other sites to embed images as my wife frequently uses it on other boards and her blog.
When I have tried using the [*img] tag system even if I hand type the url it doesn't work, I get a broken link icon and sometimes extra giberish, like this:

On the other hand I've just tried a different method - copying the image and pasting with ctrl V - and that now seems to work ....

It's not worth the trouble to post pictures here. Go to the Atlas forum and post pictures there. Much easier.
