Painting Zinc HO Models

I need to know the best way to prep, prime, and paint zinc models. The model kits are from MDC/Roundhouse and Tyco. I have used Floquil Zinc Chromate Primer and want to know if any one has a better way.
Thanks,
Terry

I had to check out a Roundhouse consolidation I built about 12 years ago before answering you. The model was washed in dishwashing detergent, rinsed and dried. this removes any finger oils, and mold release agents. I used Floquil primer (F110009), and Floquil Grimy Black. The paint has withstood 12 years of handling and still looks good.

Thanks for the help! I didn't think anyone was ever going to reply. I didn't know they had another primer till I read your reply. Did you put an overcoat on it like Dullcoat?
