Mehano Thunderbolt Express
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, May 24, 2006 5:03 PM
Hello,

I won a Mehano Thunderbolt Express Stock Number T 340 at a church social. The box is unopened and contains an engine, box car, tank car, coal car and caboose along with track and transformer. All of the cars and the engine have Hostess logos, bread, twinkies, etc. I would like to sell this but I don't know what it's worth. Could you folks help?

Thanks ever so much!
Bill

I found on a auction site $50 OBO. So i'm guessing somewhere around there would be right.

They are numbers 124 and 125

Hope that helps,

This was a limited edition version of the T340 set imported by IHC from Mehano of Slovenia The most common set had a Santa Fe loco, BN boxczr, Texaco Tanker and Tyco style Santa Fe caboose. The set was made in a number of road names with some having limited edition billboard plug door reefers.

This was probably a corporate sponsored train set that sold for less than $50 when brand new, just for the advertising value.

There's been a rash of these of late. I guess the heat is getting to some of our members.
