How do you safely remove the shell on a Walthers SW-1. I want to install a decoder

READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! No, seriously, there are two small latches, one each side of the cab, you need to carefully spread the cab sides apart (toward the "hood" end), and pull up on the front of the cab to about a 45 degree angle. This will allow you to release the rear latch under the rear step from the frame. Now, lift the rear of the hood to about 45 degrees to release the front latch below the radiator from the frame. BE PATIENT! I used a pocketknife to separate mine (no damage). Probably should use a very small screwdriver, though.
