QUOTE: The bump is to bump up the topic so you guys dont have to look for it
That's a good idea- I have been busy today- i put up a shelf on the layout that's about 4" lower than the layout and this get's my entire control panel off the layout so there will be room to double track the mainline. When i expand i'm going to try to include staging- 3 or 4 tracks would be nice- 1 for the city of new orleans, 1 for an IC grain train, one for an IC intermodal tran, and maybe 1 for a IC or BNSF coal train. I would add 12" to the back of the layout (behind the backdrop) and have a few tracks there- and i'd have to leave about 2' at the end so i could curve a few of the tracks. If i do incorporate staging my intermodal yard will be much smaller than i planned. (but that's ok)
