I notice people don't post much any more and I won't answer these unless somebody guesses; should I post just once a week?

Carolina, Clinchfield & Ohio Railway. The average cost per mile of the C., C. & O. Railway has been evaluated upward of $125,000.

It's really kind of hard to support your local hobby shop when the nearest hobby shop that's worth the name is a 150 mile roundtrip.

Going straight from the coal fields to the sea at right angles to the mountains isn't cheap! Not to mention that the locating engineers had to use a pretzel for a straightedge.

The view of the eastern approach to the tunnel under the Blue Ridge Parkway is spectacular, even though you can't get a direct view of the three successive tunnels on one tangent.

I don't know if it included stolen money or not. Was the Carolina, Clinchfield & Ohio Railway (the answer folks) notorious for swindleing people?[:-,]

I mostly mean on the Trains Magazine side.
